Abysmal Apprehension

Numbness and blurs fill my aches,
Between throbs and chills, I manage to inspire
Eyes that see nothing, but vague shapes;
All senses savoring the growing fire.

It seems to lessen as my heartbeat wakes
Crimson hidden behind clouds of pale.
Tears clenched, my misgiving brings shakes
And in the end, my answer is to fail.

Darkness appears where it did not before;
The cure to my condition sinks in.
Dried red marks a path on the floor,
And the pain has yet to begin.
