Sister told me

I was a baby

Waiting for an angel’s wings to carry me across the road.

She said the only wings in sight were evil, black on tele-line and that the world wasn’t here to save me.

I was only three.

There’s a black crow

Flying to my window.

Don’t jump and hit the floor,

Don’t fear what won’t hurt you-

Anymore.

It’s just a black crow,

Sister I know.

Mommy told me

When I was thirteen

That the way I dressed would certainly lead me somewhere wrong.

She said that black was only right on scary birds or in the night and that the world wasn’t here to save me.

That year 2003.

There’s a black crow

Flying to my window.

Don’t jump and hit the floor,

Don’t fear what won’t hurt you-

Anymore.

It’s just a black crow,

Mommy, I know.

Daddy told me,

That I was pretty.

He said, true, I would always be his and mommy’s little girl.

He said don’t fear all that is dark or things that leave a painful mark, for how else can my baby save this tainted world.

My baby girl.

Oh-oh.

His baby girl.

Oh, black crow

Flying past my window.

Don’t fall and hit floor,

Don’t fear what won’t hurt you-

Anymore.

It’s just a black crow,

Daddy, I know.

Don’t fear what won’t hurt you-

Let it soar…

Away with fear,

Away with tears,

Away with heartbreaking ends,

Away with lies,

Away with binds,

Away with scars that won’t mend,

Away with pain,

Away with war,

We’ll find what we’re living for.

The omen that is black crow

Hurts no more.

Oh, black crow

Fly away from my window.

I won’t fall and hit floor,

I won’tt fear what won’t hurt you-

Anymore.

Black Crow.

Anymore.

(black crow)

Anymore.

(It’s just a black crow)

Anymore.

(black crow)

YahNow-------

(It’s just a black crow)

Now I know.
