A Single Gleam

A single gleam to catch his eye.
(Echoing screams, of hateful cries.)
A horror none could have perceived.
(Where are they? Why can’t they see?)
A single corpse upon the floor.
(There’s nothing left. I breathe no more.)
(No longer tears. No need to cope.)
The frail, still child who had lost hope.

A/N: The child isn't technically a child, just so you know...
