One Step Two
She’s the girl in the iron dress,
Rusting in the rain.
He’s the boy in a black bow tie,
Screaming out her name.
They dance a ballet at the disco,
Stumbling through the crowd.
Side stepping silent thoughts,
Careful not to speak out loud.
He softens her lips with sweet fragrance,
And stills his heart to save her breath.
Stealing the pearls from around her neck,
In remembrance of untimely death.
