Tamper

Memories sting bitterly

Against eyelids

And stream down soft cheeks,

Meeting a final resting place

Upon already wet cloth.

A pattern of images

Strung together

Which cause unimaginable pain.

Nothing more than pictures,

Faces blurred

And speech a bitter facade.

Warped with time,

Becoming uglier

As feelings transform.

Demons peering from

The closets of the past,

Chuckling in dark glee

Sneering at pain.

Events becoming

More horrible,

As if an invisible hand,

Has reached within

And pulled at the actor's strings.

Foul memories,

Contaminated by the

Strange grasp that

Twists my heart

Into a tight knot

Of pain,

Horrible resentment,

And tearful remembrance.
