piercing to her soul with those eyes

look away

her silent plea

she's afraid to love him

who knows what she might do

what she might become

surrender her heart to this boy

and she will lose all control

she will forget everything but him

she'll get lost in his eyes

and in his arms

strong, sure and gentle

and she knows that she's afraid not to love him

if her dreams of him subside

like so many ripples in a pool

what will be left?

what will she then hold on to?

if she lets go of those piercing eyes

will she lose her passion?

empty inside

who knows what she might become

look away
