Passing Time

Blind to everything that has now become clear.
Hurt and afraid, why did this all happen?
Ashamed, did you treat me like a fool?
Memories that meant something now mean nothing.

Wishing I could see how you were with her.
Hoping I knew what went on before we split.
Dreading the thought that you were cheating on me,
Without actually cheating on me.

Fool I was to trust in our love.
Idiots we were to hope like we did.
In love till after the end, still wondering what went wrong,
And what changed to make you turn suddenly.

The love we felt lost in time.
Your love for her beating in time.
Time has moved on, and so have you both, yet I wait behind,
Misunderstanding where this life is taking me.

I feel you both now, slipping away from me.
There’s only one thing I can do, but too afraid to do it.
I wish that our fractured friendship could be cured,
For my heart and my soul are weak from crying.
