He is Right

This love is a plague
Affecting all who know of it
I long now to forget about you and what you cause
Although my heart is urging me to do otherwise.

A close friend can see my idiocy
So why can’t I see it too?
Nothing will be as it was
Am I lying to myself now?

I sit on the beach staring into the waves
And nothing seems calm
I need to end this now
Before it infects other people.

In this world of incredible uncertainties
The largest is my love for you
It is something I shouldn’t be feeling
Yet I can’t seem to let it go.

He is right, I shouldn’t feel this
He is right, I should let it go
He is right, now why can’t I see?
He is right, yet I won’t admit it.
