I walked the well-worn path.

I walked the well-worn path that leads me to your door. I walked through the gate and up the walk and thought more about what you had said all the way.

You said I was in danger, that the time was all too near. You said I should be prepared for His coming, you told me I would be happier. I scoffed at first and said “ yeah right”. But now I want you to help show me the light.

I walk the steps and stare at the door. I think to myself, “I can’t take this emptiness anymore.” I raise my fist, I knock once, I knock twice.

I step back as you open the door and I see your ever-smiling face. I smile too, then I walk inside and sit down. I make a sound then start to cry. You smile at me still and you put your arms around me. I stop for a minute and tell you why I came.

You then stand up and whisper His precious name and you put your arms around me once more. You then told me how I could see the light. After a while I walked out of your house with a huge smile on my face.

I walked the well-worn path from your house to mine happier then I had ever been.
