Requiem: Decadence

Note: Written about a friend of mine and his criticism, but also the threat of him crumbling under his own standards.


annihilate:
-&- she swan-dives through the second-story window
with shards of crystal&chicken wire
catching her crumpled landing.

wilted: like the roses she adores

darkness elapses
.

not until she's up again--
fleeing from the imprisonment once again

no one ever said it was easy
((truth is: she would never have it any other way));
trying to outpace those criticisms
nipping at her heels.

what will you see?
c-o-l-l-a-p-s-i-n-g
from the pressures you held us to be.
