My mother didn’t know she was pregnant when she was bitten, nor did she know she was pregnant when she was turned. No, it was when she started to show, five months into the pregnancy or four and a half months since she was turned. They took her to their doctor. It was a miracle for one of them to have a child. I was a blessing to them. I could do things they could not, because I was both. Then when I turned eighteen, I became their link to life. By the time I was nineteen I had a group revolting against me and I was going against everything I was taught. I was working with them. I was no longer one of them. I was me, and I was the Living Vampire.
