Red Riding Hood

Dangerous and terrifying

A bristly exterior hides the man within

A monstrous wolf on the outside

A cursed man inside; hidden

Trapped underneath a red cloak

Innocence and purity thrives

She will never know the tales

Behind these betrayed eyes

A mask of cruelty and wickedness

There must be something more

Was this beast always this way?

Or was there a time before…

A hood drawn over her head

And shadows hiding her face

She must be terrified of me;

Such a revolting disgrace

Is there anything more to this creature

Than trickery and lies?

Should I trust this shady figure?

Guilty of so many crimes...

If only I could tell her

The true feelings kept inside

Maybe she could free this curse

Which I forever abide

A/N: in case you didn’t get it, the italics were red riding hood and the normal font was the wolf. loosely inspired by ‘Call Me When You’re Sober’ – Evanescence
