Yo

Shoes here. First story posted on ficpress, hopin it will go well. I know this is a rather long author note, but it will be the only one I give you besides reviewer responses at the end of each chapter so just be patient. This is a yoai, slash, m/m whatever-the-fuck-you-wanna-call it story, so homophobes, seek sanctuary somewhere else. Flames will be tossed out with the rest of the garbage. Constructive criticism welcome… no, encouraged.

There is also mention of rape, one of the boys is a rape victim so there might be some flash backs, but that's why this thing is rated m. This is a very dark fic, not for the weak-hearted, but it is very very sweet and touching… most of the time. /insert evil cackle here/

This also has a Christian theme to it. Do not think that I am merely mentioning religion or what-ever, I will be going very in depth because considering the other boy is an aspiring Catholic priest, his religious beliefs are very important thing in his life. If that bothers you as well, I'm sorry. Not really, but I feel like being nice at the moment. hehehehe....

I personally really like this story, but it's a long, long story and I'm a lazy ass bum, so I'm gonna need motivation to write this, AKA, reviews… … please? /big googly anime eyes/ come on, who can resist the big anime eyes?

Dry Rain

Prologue: Freedom

A small sigh escaped his lips as he lay down upon the dirty, carpeted floor. Gentle clanking filled the room as if some sort of chain was being shifted from one position to another. The room was dark and so cold. He shivered; all he wore was a baggy pair of ripped and holey jeans that did nothing to shield him from the offending chill that wafted ominously though the room.

But to him, this was heaven.

No one was there to torture him, nobody to remind him of the hellhole he lived in. The silent darkness was a welcome companion to anything else that lived in the house. There were sounds outside the door of people talking and moving about. It could only be described as marvelous that they could lead such normal lives considering what happened almost daily in that dark prison called "his" room. They seemed so ordinary to him as he listened to them go on about their merry lives; but once they entered the room, they all changed.

He couldn't take it anymore!

The abuse, the torture, the forced submission. Any soul would crack if they dealt with the things he did, but he refused to be in this house when that time came. By the sounds they were making now, and then the sudden silence, he guessed that they had temporarily left the house. He breathed out another sigh, this time of relief.

Pushing himself up of the floor to his hands and knees, he crawled over to where the base of the chain that kept his trapped in "hell" was connected to the wall. He had tried many times to remove the chain from around him, but he had yet to succeed. Instead he would try a new approach, he would pull the damn thing from the wall.

And pull he did; but it had little to no effect. The chain loop was connected to his leash was drilled into the wall. In frustration, he let out a pained growl and kicked the chain loop with all the strength he could muster from his half kneeling position on the floor. This only succeeded in accomplishing two things.

One, a very sore foot.

Two, the chain base hanging halfway ripped out, the screws securing it to the wall bent.

Once he recovered from his severely bruised foot, he noticed the new development and couldn't help but let a feeling of elation run through him. One more kick and he could have the chain free. Drawing back his other foot, he squeezed his eyes closed. He knew it would hurt, but at the moment he was to far along to turn back now. He gave the chain a hard kick and…

CLANG!

He was free.

He flinched at the noise and the pain, hoping and praying that they would not hear. If they did they would surly punish him greatly for being so bold as to ruin his oppressive restraint. He sat frozen for a while, eyes wide and fastened on the door. But no one came.

'They must be out' he thought as he crawled, chain trailing behind him, over to the door and ever so slowly opened it. They had not bothered to lock it. He was chained to the opposite wall and he had no way to break free, or so they thought. No one was there. He almost wished he could stay so that he could see the looks on their faces once they realized that their toy was gone. 'That's IF I get outta here' he scolded himself, 'and to do that I need to walk.'

Using the door as a prop he pulled himself to his feet, wincing heavily at the pain that shot through his body. His back begged for him to relieve the weight put on it as he slowly dragged himself up the door to stand. His legs almost gave once he finally managed to pull himself all the way up. He opened the door the rest of the way and stumbled out. Using the wall to stabilize himself he made his way down the hallway, past the many different rooms, which he didn’t even bother to look at. His only focus was the door he knew was at the other end of the living room.

This door was locked, but thankfully from the inside. Unlocking the dead bolt and wrenching open the door, he all but threw himself outside.

It was then that he realized that he had not been outside in almost two years. He couldn't help but turn his head towards the sky. Almost any other person at the time would have taken one look outside and closed the door, but he relished everything he could. It was late afternoon, but darker outside because at the moment it was pouring down rain.

His upturned face caught in the rain, and he smiled. The rain was cool and refreshing, cleansing almost.

Freedom…
