Author's Note: Ok everyone, I'm finally reposting this story. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do withit yet. I've got almost two chapters written, excluding this one. I'm going to warn everyone now that I'm not going to be updating often; my muse goes on vacation tothe Bahamasquite often. Anyway, on with the story.
The World of Altair
The world of Altair is divided into 8 territories. Each represents an Element. They are; Lorien-Fire/ShapeShifter, Lolosia-Earth, Tier-Water, Revinar-ShapeShifter, Slevvena-Air, Vyrkynia-Darkness, Kyrna-Ice, and Ilynea-Light. They all get along fairly well; there will always be certain prejudices and differences in personality. The only exception to that is the Loriens. They are stronger and more powerful than all of the others, they are the only ones with two Elemental powers and they are the only thing standing between all of the Territories ultimate destruction.
Lorien was a very dangerous place. The people, if they could be called that, were a vicious species. They were strong, physically and mentally. They wielded the power of fire; they could sense the presence of others, and change their shape at will, among other things. Their culture was rough. You had to be strong or you were not worth their time. The…creatures outside of the City were unlike any other. Some had the power to mimic shape. Each was unique. Designed for one purpose; to kill. So if Loriens were seen as heartless it was because they had to be to survive. Living in a place where anyone could be your enemy had an effect on Loriens; they were fierce, inhuman, and brutal. Their appearance had also adapted for their survival; they were tall and lithe, their nails were long and sharp as were their teeth.
The people of Lorien had an…agreement with the people of Lolosia. As long as they stayed on their side of the border the Loriens wouldn’t attack them and would protect them from the creatures of Lorien. Their magic wouldn’t allow anyone who didn’t have permission to cross. If Lolosians crossed they were fair game.
The people of Lolosia were the complete opposite. They were open and friendly, they welcomed all to their country, except Loriens of course. Lolosians were the people others called when they needed assistance for though they were amiable, they were excellent soldiers. Their appearance was also different; they were tall and muscular, the perfect soldiers. They controlled the power of Earth; plants and rocks are at their disposal.
