Hello! I was bored the other day, so I made up a new character. His name is Tommy, and since I have to write a story for every character I make up, I decided to write one for him. Read, and feel free to flame or appreciate! All reviews are welcome.

Outside night had fallen, but inside it was as bright as day. A woman lay on a hospital bed, head thrown back as she screamed in pain. Her light brown hair stuck to her sweaty face, right hand tightly gripping her husband's. "Just one more push, Lisa." the doctor murmured. "Take a deep breath... Now push!" The woman did so, and the baby came into the world, crying and squirming in the doctor's hands.

"Congratulations. It's a boy." the doctor said, smiling at Lisa and giving the baby boy to a nurse to clean off.

"Let me see him." Lisa whispered, smiling tiredly and reaching for her son. The nurse smiled at her and turned the baby over to clean his back, then froze. "Dr. Gray... Come see this." she whispered. The doctor walked over and looked at the baby's back, his eyes going wide. "What..."

The baby squirmed and cried, but went still when Dr. Gray's fingers touched his back, right in the center of the black saber-tooth head. The tattoo took up most of his back, gray, black and white fires dancing around the head. "Take him to the NICU." Dr. Gray said, looking at the nurse. She nodded and rushed out of the room with the screaming boy. "What's wrong? What's happening?" Lisa asked.

"Don't worry. Your baby is perfectly healthy." Dr. Gray assured her. "We just want to figure something out. It seems he's got an odd tattoo on his back." Lisa's brown eyes went wide.

"What do you mean, tattoo?" her husband demanded, coming forward. "Charlie, don't worry. Dr. Gray said he'd be fine." Lisa said, grabbing his hand and smiling. "We just need to wait." Charlie looked at his wife, then sat in the chair beside her and took her hand, squeezing it and smiling. "So, what are you going to name him?" the doctor asked, smiling at the new parents.

"Tommy." Lisa replied. "Tommy Daniel Blake."

Dr. Gray smiled. "A fitting name." he said. "I'll just go make the birth certificate. I'll be back soon." The couple nodded and Dr. Gray left.

The doctor walked down the hallway towards his office, but was stopped by the nurse who'd rushed Tommy to the NICU. "Yes?" he said quietly.

"He's Albino." the nurse murmured, biting her lower lip. "He just opened his eyes and they're as red as blood, and the bit of hair he has is white as snow." Dr. Gray's eyes went wide. He'd seen a lot of babies and people in his life, but never an Albino.

"Go tell the parents, I'll write up the certificate." he said. "Tell them gently, Mary. We don't know how they'll react." Mary nodded and hurried towards the room as Dr. Gray continued on towards his office.

----

Mary walked down the hallway and stopped in front of the new mother's room, taking a deep breath before walking in with a smile on her face.

"How's my baby?" Lisa asked, sitting up and watching the nurse with worried eyes.

"He's perfectly healthy." Mary replied, sitting down in the empty chair beside Charlie. "But... This is going to be strange to say-"

"What?" Charlie asked, looking at her.

"Your son... is an Albino." Mary said, nervously waiting for their reaction.

Lisa frowned. "A... What?"

"What the hell is an Albino?" Charlie growled.

"Someone born with red eyes and white hair." Mary said, smiling. She could already tell this wasn’t going over well.

"So my son's a freak?" Charlie growled.

"Charlie!" Lisa whispered, eyes wide. "Don't say that!"

"Lisa, our first son... Our only son is an Albino. An Albino, a freak." Charlie said, turning to her and crossing his arms over his chest.

“I know it’s odd. Not every child born is an Albino.” Mary said, rising and putting a hand on Charlie’s shoulder. “We just ask that you please take care of him and treat him like a regular child. It’s going to be hard, I know, but he can’t help what he is.”

“Don’t worry.” Lisa said softly. “We’ll take good care of him, I promise.” She smiled at Mary, who smiled back, noting how fake the smile was.

“That is all we ask.” Mary said, nodding to them before leaving.

“Charlie, please. I know this isn’t what you were expecting, but please don’t hate him or push him away.” Lisa whispered, tears in her pretty eyes. Her husband looked at her, then at the wall.

“Well, I assume that Mary has given you the news. Would you like to see him?” Dr. Gray asked, coming in with the birth certificate and smiling at them. Lisa gave him a small smile in return, and Charlie just ignored the doctor.

“Yes, can you please bring him here?” Lisa asked, for once ignoring her husband. Dr. Gray nodded and went out to get their son.

“Be nice to him, Charlie.” Lisa said. Her husband just walked out of the room, muttering something about getting a drink. He passed Mary, who walked in with Tommy in her arms. Lisa smiled and took her baby, holding him close and smiling down at him. “Hello Tommy.” she whispered. The baby looked up at her and smiled, then reached up with tiny hands. She let him hold her finger, her smile growing. The baby let out a happy gurgle and gripped down on her hand, red eyes glowing with happiness.

Lisa was still a bit unnerved by the fact that her only child was an Albino, and she feared for his safety. She could give him away, but then she didn’t know if he would be taken care of… It was best to just take him home and try to raise him properly.

Lisa looked up when Charlie came back in, and she bit her lip nervously. Tommy turned to look at his father, then gurgled and reached out towards him. Charlie’s face hardened and he walked out the door again. Lisa sighed sadly, then began to feed her baby. Tommy suckled eagerly, gurgling happily. Lisa felt a smile cross her lips again and she stroked her baby’s head, feeling the bit of soft hair that was already there. It was as white as snow, but also so pretty. He really was adorable.

“I love you, Tommy.” she whispered, smiling. Tommy gurgled happily at her, pulling away and looking up at his mother. Lisa smiled and wiped the milk from his face. “Sleep, baby. I’ll always protect you.” the new mother said softly, smiling again when Tommy’s eyelids slid shut slightly. The baby gurgled and smiled at her, then rested his tiny head against her arm and went to sleep. Lisa began to sing softly, lulling the Albino into a deeper sleep.
