Battery acid overflows from
circuits, out of control,
an error!, frayed wires
hanging about ‘it’
like wings made of sparkplugs
as slowly, the power is shut off
and ‘its’ bright eyes fade
to empty sockets that
glare up at us (asking, "why?").

Life we have created
and then destroyed,
just to prove we can.
