SCORPION UNDER GLASS

There’s freedom from obsession

But I’ll stay my hand

To sit in submission one more day

I’ll give you my confession

Words are all I have

I hate you; want to hurt you

But I can’t

Scorpion under glass

The someone in the mirror

Wears my face to hide the madness

Caught between pain and the promise

Of breaking you down

Distractions come and go

But the relief is momentary

Invisible; imagined

But the cage is always there

What would you do

If you were helpless as I feel

And what would you do

To save your sanity if a delusion

Was your only choice

Regardless of my hatred

I’m still bound by phantom shackles

And haunted by their endless weight

Hanging from my wrists

And their voices are still screaming

When darkness falls upon me

And the smallness of my world

Really gets under my skin

There’s freedom from obsession

But I’ll stay my hand

To sit in submission one more day

I’ll give you my confession

Words are all I have

I hate you; want to hurt you

But I can’t

Scorpion under glass

So do your worst

(I dare you to!)

I dare you make me bleed

Someday these walls

(Are gonna break!)

And when… they… do…
