Spiraling Downwards

Humans were once angels;

our wings died with our innocence.

Humans can be demons;

the seeds of evil are sown with the violence.

We built flying machines to replace our wings,

shining, silver, icy steel.

But being locked into a metal box can never

surpass the feeling of sky, so real.

We made up lies to hide the evil,

lies of peace, health, and joy.

But sooner or later, they will find out

when we continue to destroy.

Tilting the wheel of faith,

tempting the touch of violence,

we'll continue spiraling downwards

until we're all lost in the silence.
