Seventh Level

I can’t take this anymore,
A pain beyond the power of words;
Taking over me, the only one I fear,
Crying blood, the only real release;
No angel that guards my world,
Can stop me from the hurt.

How can I try to explain to you?
When I do, do you care to bother,
With a burden beyond your control,
Your only son fighting the true darkness.

Sometimes I see a door, beyond lies light,
I long to reach for its handle,
The true key to my escape;
But I fear its opening, a door to no return,
Maybe I’ll be loved only when I’m gone.

I may be beaming, but inside I’m screaming,
I don’t dare to say what I fail to write,
The sweet temptation to destroy a fortress of tears;
To reel myself from the innermost darkness,
Hanging between the balance of life and death.

I’m well on my way to finding where I belong,
The seventh level of hell, or redemption of cloud nine;
Never knowing, never showing, the intent of how I feel;
Hiding in secrets, etched into my pale skin,
Weakening at the decent of days,
I’ll die before I wake.
