What do you want from me? What can I do?

To get you to say, “I love you too”?

I watch from afar, we’ve barely even met.

I long to approach you, but I cannot forget

The endless possibilities of what could go wrong

I’d be stupid, I’d be boring, the list is so long.

And what would you even want with me if I did try?

Out of all the others, I’m not the “best” guy

After all the pretty boys and the rich, who’s lives have peaked,

What would you want with me, a mere video game geek?

I can’t throw a football 100 yards,

I’m not extremely good-looking, and I don’t have a car.

Kind of shy; I’m not always funny,

I can’t buy you things, for I have no money.

But if I could be all these things I’d do them today

just to get you to look my way

I know it’s hopeless and I’ve tried to get you out of my head

but then my heart feels as if it’s been turned to lead.

What I can give you though, is the most important of all.

I’ll be there when your down, I’ll catch you when you fall.

I’d give you my devotion, my passion, my love.

You’re what keeps my heart beating, you’re what I’m made of.

You are my desire, my obsession.

Only in a cruel world like this could I suffer such oppression.

The mere thought of you causes my heart to burn,

But it is, alas, a love that is to be forever unreturned.

What do you want from me? What can I do?

To get you to say, “I love you too”?
