The flicks in your eyes are only the start of a picture.

Creating and adding to the hazel that binds the spell.

Added with the perfect combination of electric green.

Makes me wonder is there is such a color.

But when I stare back, and lose myself in those never ending eyes,

I forget myself, and who I am supposed to be.

All my inhibitions erode away,

Creating a statue that only comes out for special occasions.

And you lead me blindly,

Towards a cliff, I knew was coming.

And in hope, and desperation, I ensue your footsteps,

Hoping you’ll catch me if I go too far.

But when we reach the edge,

I know the direction has ended.

And when you let go,

All I can do is fall back.

And instead of reaching out,

I know you look away,

Headless of what sits at your feet.

Afraid of passing the invisible barrier.

And again, I slowly feel myself to stone.

Angry at being deserted once again.

Cursing myself for anticipating something

That won’t come.

And all I have left is the desire to stare in those deep electric green eyes.
