A/N: Written for acontest but I finished a day too late...so here it is. It sort of reminds me of a story I once read; I based this on it. R&R and enjoy! XD

Behind Those Doors

Behind those doors, I remember
Smiling at the sunbeams on my face,
Spreading my arms out to fly
For everything was a grand chase.
The world through a haze.
Secret serenade.

I didn’t understand, then.
I never stopped to wonder, then.
I never cared, then.
But then again I was ten.

Always whispering its legend to me,
Teasing me, tempting me,
I don’t know what to do
I always try but still I can’t see
Old secrets that lie behind those doors.

I always think back
That day after dinner
Pale faces, hushed whispers
Sinner, they said, sinner

I didn’t understand.
All I wanted was a bit of fun
But the pale faces never left.
What was done was done.
A sin, they said, a sin.

Something happened there
Behind that creaky shed door
A murder, a crime, I will never know
That place is forbidden and fading, a lore
The place I once loved, gone.

Always whispering its legend to me,
Teasing me, tempting me,
I don’t know what to do
I always try but still I can’t see
The old secrets that lie behind those doors.

Always, always behind those doors.
