"So, what is it?" Ryuii asked, looking over at the new person I had dragged home. He didn't care much now what I drug in, after all, I'd dragged him in and his family as well.

"Him. His name's Munk," I said, guiding him over to an all ready crowded couch. "Just don't sit on my cats," I warned him. Munk simply smiled at me, a soft smile that most would find disconcerting.

Munk's red hair covered most of his face, and his loppy rabbit-like ears dragged down to his shoulders. His eyes were hidden from view-And trust me, it was better that way. A white and red robe covered him, and though he had been rather scuffed up when I stubled upon him, there was no blood seeping through the linen.

"I'm... Nothing," Munk mumbled, answering Ryuii's question. I had learned on our walk here that it took him a while to process questions, as though he only had fleeting glances of reality.

"You brought in another stray, eh?" A cocky voice sounded from the hallway. 'Oh, crap. Not him again,' I thought as Arion rounded the corned, his unbound teal hair framing his body as far as I could see. "So, what'd ya bring i--" He never finished as he looked over at Munnk, his words halted.

Munk smiled, staring straight ahead. "Arion. Tripped over anymore of my people lately?" He asked, with just a hint of good-natiured humour in his voice.

"I-I thought they'd killed you...," Arion whispered, watching Munk warily-as though the peaceful creature might attack him. I stood, suprised myself. There had only been one other occasion when there had been compassion in his voice, when I mention Marron, the mother who he beleives he killed.

"Yes, Yes. Of course it looked that way to you," Munk said, nodding slightly. "It was a tradition. For as long as my people can remember, we have given each other a horrible affliction--In the hopes that we will never kill. We maim our own to satisfy the bloodlust of our soils," He paused to finger a collar around his neck. "I suppose, you can guess what I lost."

Arion didn't need to take note of the cat-eye pendant hanging from it. "Your sight," he whispered.
