Captivated

Because it is both

Unfathomable

And forever

The unrelenting waves

Which lap against time

The way time laps against us

Shaping something new

Slowly and surly

Carrying away the grains of sand

Carries away little pieces of us

We watch the waves

Because the endless hues of blue and green are a poets soul

That which can never be completely understood

That which can only be watched and felt

That which crafts beauty when no one is watching

That which watches us, watching it

In silence

And forces us to turn away
