A/N: The capitalization in this poem is all completely intentional. It's to do with the meaning of the poem, and what it's really about, which is personal and perhaps universal. There's a message in here, and while I'm not trying to be smarter than you and superior or anything, I'm not going to tell you what it is. Think about it. Maybe you care, maybe you don't. But I think you should.
jump in,
said the Instructor,
I’m here to keep you safe.
you can do it. I will help you.
so you dove,
and heard a terrifying rush
around your ears.
but you were made waterproof,
and also unsinkable.
you can’t learn how to swim
just by hearing about it.
you have to jump into the water
and trust your Instructor.
He knew what
He was saying when
He told you to jump,
and you haven’t stopped swimming.
so learn the strokes,
keep afloat.
He’s always there,
guarding the water,
guiding you
Home.
