Still
-
She knelt down at His feet
And she wept
And she asked Him for forgiveness.
She told Him what she’d done,
All the evil tumbling out,
The dark details of her life;
She confessed her sins to Him
As she bore her penance.
She asked Him to forgive her
Because redemption was what she needed,
She asked Him to pardon her,
But He did not stir.
She threw herself at his feet
And she cried out.
But He did not move,
Because He could not hear her.
In the silence, she rose,
And she did not wander into that church again.
