Like some strange fairytale
It calls to me.
Dragons beckoning me closer
With onyx eyes and crystal scales
And hearts consumed with a burning ire.
Unicorns are prancing,
Their horns nearly blinding in the retreating light
As they dance with an unnatural grace.
Mermaids swim along the shore
In the foreground of the sirens’ song,
Their hair splayed behind them
Drifting with the gentle waves.
In the forest fauns frolic,
Gamboling under the starlit sky
Stained indigo from the sun’s leave.
The stars speak in complex code
As they stutter above the monstrous sphinx.
Basking in the surreal glow
Cast upon the earth by a silver moon,
The enigma turns my way
And grants me a toothy grin
As well as a riddle-
A question of answers.
