Five days later
-
The ride through his home town was painfully slow, waited down with anticipation. After almost a week on the road, the neet and sunny suburbs seemed strange and forgien, like a life time he could never retreave. Casten patted Reda on the arm when they arrived at his house, and the bike pulled to a stop. Silently he left the bike that had been his home, and slipped off the coat Reda had leant him after becoming ill.
The silence seemed to stretch for a while, all Casten really knew was that he wanted this to last for at least a little while longer. "What are you gonna do now?"
"My brothers up in heaven with out his wheels, I gotta send him them. I saw a cliff warning a while back, think that's a good spot."
"Ok…" Casten's eyes felt heavy. He wasn't sure about this good-bye, or how he should act, Reda had helped him, but domineered him, for the past week the pair had been together. Reda's warm, strong hands round the back of his neck, coaxing him in…
"Casten?"
Casten jolted and turned round, for a few seconds not recognising the boy who stood opposite, dark brown hair just longer than acceptable length, large dark eyes, pale skin, he didn't look old enough to attend the high school of the uniform he was wearing…
"Dits?" Casten kicked himself for not recognising his own brother after a week.
"Casten's turned to boys?" Dits asked in innocent awe. Casten felt himself turn pink.
"N-" He was cut off by being knocked out the way.
"I'm Reda, and you are?" Reda strode past Casten and stood over Dits, the height difference was about a foot, but Dits didn't shrink away. His eyes locked with Reda's, the innocence drained from his face, leaving only a dark expression that Casten thought some one so pretty should never have to wear.
"I'm Dits." Dits replied sharply. Reda snorted, and smiled, although his eyes were still glaring at Dits.
"Sure you are." With that he turned and headed back to his bike, brushing past Casten, leaving him wondering where those warm strong hands had gone.
Dits stared after the retreating bike, before turning his glare on Casten, who felt like those eyes were mentally stabbing him.
"I'm sorry!" Casten blurted out, not quite sure what he was apologising for.
"How could you give yourself to some one like him?!" Dits demanded, he appeared to be in shock.
"Give myself…?"
"He obviously doesn't care, see how easy he gave up?"
"No Dits, you've got it wrong, we were saying good-bye!" Casten explained quickly, unaware of his brother's presumptions.
"But you shagged him, right?"
Casten felt his innards stop working and his blood turn to ice.
"What the HELL?! We're both MALE! How the hell could we do that?!" Casten yelled, aware the tiredness was getting to him. Dits looked shocked, Casten struggled to gain control of his temper, he'd never lost it before, not over anything. "I'm sorry for shouting, but don't be daft, he only gave me a lift."
"Then what was he…" Wide eyed Dits stared at the floor. "You've seriously not done anything-"
"Dits, we're both boys, that would be immoral." Casten explained calmly.
"Then what was with that look he gave me?" Dits asked, his mood seemed to be reflecting Casten's.
"You were both rude to each other-"
"No, he looked like he'd given up, like he'd just lost the will to live…"
"I saw a cliff warning a while back, think that's a good spot." "My brothers all alone up there…" "He's waiting for me, I don't wanna make him wait too long."
Casten's eyes widened.
-
"REDA!" Casten could see the black figure standing at the edge of the cliff. It turned and headed towards him.
"Casten? What are you doing-"
"I thought you were gonna kill yourself!" Casten leant forwards, gasping for breath. There was a silence of too long, that confirmed Casten's suspicions. "…Reda?"
"I'm not gonna go just yet." Reda sighed and sat down on the grass. "I realised I have stuff left to do."
"That's good!" Casten sat down beside him. "Stuff to live for."
"I realised when I saw your 'friend' there,-"
"Friend? You mean Dits?"
"Something came over me, I was so insanely jealous…"
"Jealous of what?"
"The way you looked at him, the way you pulled away from me when you heard his voice."
"Well that's natural he's my-"
"I'm not giving up." Reda cut in firmly.
"Giving up on what?"
"You, Casten, I'm gonna fight for you, I'm not giving you to him." Reda finished.
"I don't understand, what's all this about giving me?" Casten remembered Dits had made similar connotations.
"I love you Casten."
Casten lost the ability to think.
"I realised when I saw him and you, I know you care for each other, but I'm gonna make you love me."
Casten felt the cold damp ground beneath his back, Reda had pinned him down.
"I will make you mine!"
Reda pushed his lips down onto Castens, trying to force his tongue into the others mouth. Casten tensed for a moment before realising what was happening. He made a swift movement with his legs, slamming Reda to the side, and leaping quickly to his feet.
"What the hell are you playing at?!" Casten demanded, wanting to run away in shame, but some where in the back of his mind worried if he left Reda now, the biker might finish what he started with the cliff.
Reda pulled himself slowly to his feet, brushing himself down.
"You know, I forgot about that, that you're the same Casten junior kickboxing world champion." Reda seemed strangely calm, the urgency from a moment ago was gone. "You're gonna fight me, if I try to force you, right?"
"Force me to do what?" Casten asked, after a few moments it dawned on him that 'make you mine' was a reference to what Reda had planned for after the kiss. "Are you gay?!"
"You seriously just noticed?!" Reda asked sarcastically.
"I've never seen a real gay before, I didn't know the warning signs." Casten snapped.
"What about Dits?" Reda asked with a confused pout.
"What abo- My brother is not gay!" Casten yelled, he was use to people accusing Dits of homosexuality, and it really got on his nerves.
"Your brother? Not gay? Are you saying I misjudged the situation?"
"I never want to see you again!" Casten turned and ran all the way home, with his new found energy.
