Let the dead bury the dead

The unspoken words of long gone dreams

Echo in the misty past

Where hopes and fears melt

Into the boiling pot of tears

A glass of whiskey

A shot of rum

A blind eye

A cold shoulder

The buried dead walk

Forever stuck in the empty mist

The stubborn eye

The harshly turned cheek

Long gone dreams

From unspoken hearts

Stay buried more than the dead

The dead walk free

Free from the mortal bonds of shame

Their dreamsno longer exist

But silenced dreams mean nothing

An ant can dream of height

But will soon enough be burned

Charred by the giggling child

Wielding a magnifying glass

So let the dead bury the dead

The living are too quiet
