A sonnet that I had to write for Shakespeare class, the first sonnet I have ever written. I decided no to put it to waste.

My Guiding Light

You are the light I see shining so bright,

You find a way to rise above the rest.

I see you as a star, my guiding light.

To me you are the very, very best.

I am a follower following you,

But sometimes things get so far out of hand.

I look until I don't know what to do,

I'm drowning in life and cannot find land.

But then you suddenly appear by me,

With that kind heart to put me back on track.

I know that you will help me look and see

And with you here I know I can't turn back

You helped me to see who I truly am

And now I know that I can be your lamb.
