Silence

The silence is bearing down,

While my arms are achingly bare.

My heart is burdened anew,

For dreams that don’t come true.

--

I hear the echo of my thoughts,

In the vast deepness of my despair.

Like cruel waves on the shore,

That pound the sand in a fury,

Leaving battered ship remains,

And no hope for the woman’s worry.

--

How long must this go on,

For my strength is fading fast.

I drag each step and strain to walk beyond,

The endless valley in shadow cast.
