i’m a grain of sand in an hour glass
time is now ticking away at my past
and sadly my dreams will go undreamt
no one’ll know what any of them meant

so to the bottom i’ll slowly sink
the air’s too crushed for me to think
low and behold as the darkness calls
my final scene and the curtain falls

i’m a piece of thread about to unravel
pressed against cold stone and gravel
and sadly my heart will easily break
no one’ll know the price it takes

so to the end i’ll be suddenly pulled
the naive are far too easily fooled
low and behold as the darkness calls
my final scene and the curtain falls

i’m a drop of rain on a window pane
life has gotten way too strange
and sadly the whispers will never end
no one’ll know the truth again

so to the bottom i’ll slowly sink
the air’s too crushed for me to think
towards the ending time just crawls
my final scene and the curtain falls
