you would have thought

that her heart skipped a beat

her breath caught in her throat

and her words blurred into mumbles

as her eyes locked into yours

but, think again boy

her eyes

calm and silent

no longer beg you

to love her

her voice

light and steady

no longer tells you

she'll wait forever

she's changed boy,

and she's long gone

no longer can you make her cry

no longer do you matter

when she looks at you

all she sees

is on sad song

of one boy

who lost his chance,

lost her heart

forever
