You’re Trying To Own A Super Hero

-

there’s a fire truck boy s.o.m.e.w.h.e.r.e

with your name on his

license plate

-

he (only) calls me

when he thinks i need his -help-

he wants to be a HERO

and i believe in him (admittedly, more than i’d like to)

-

yet… i’d :never: dial 911

after all, he’s just not /my/ fire truck boy.

i can’t say he’s yours, either, though

maybe he’s got your name written on him

-

but honestly,

-

you only see his license plate

when he’s turned his back

and he’s walking a w a y.

-

i didn’t ask for him to save me,

the fire alarm went off

and he,

he was just doing his job

but (i swear) you said

that’s why you loved him

-

i’ll just try not to get into trouble anymore

does that sound good to you?

A/N- Fire Truck Boy... The metaphor continues.

i'd burn down with the building before i'd let him help me...

and yeah he ends up coming to my rescue anyway.

i never said life wasn't ironic.

i never said i didn't want his help.

i just know better than to accept it.

if you think i'm putting up walls... i wish i could say you're wrong. but you are so very, very right.

Love,

The Fourth Fate
