Hey! Okay, I am SO very sorry for this late update! This chapter was so HARD to write! I wrote it and rewrote it several times, and I am STILL not happy with it…

Just a note: I changed Elizabeth’s brothers name from Ron to Liam, I’m not sure if people wouldn’t have noticed or not, but just wanted to let you guys know about the small change. Thank you to ALL of my reviewers:

Carmel March, X-Romantic-X, Eileen Whiting, PoorEnglishArtist, Haleyy Hardcore, Southern Siren, AMM348, crecentmoon89 (all your questions will be answered, I promise!)

Thank you for sticking with me for over six months while I suffered from writer’s block…

Anyway, here’s the long awaited chapter 29, Enjoy:

Liam Fitzgerald was standing in the doorway of the front door, holding a gun and brandishing it at anything that moved. Well, at least that explained where the gunshots had come from… although, Elizabeth was still confused, for one of the questions that was burning in her mind was how exactly he had found her and what he was doing with a gun in the middle of a vampire clan house in the first place. Unless the bullets were made of pure silver, they would cause no damage to any of the people in the building, except for herself. She just hoped that he didn’t accidentally shoot her.

Taking her eyes off her brother for a moment, they landed on the three vampires standing near the stairs. Carson and Darren both had looks of unconcealed amusement on their faces, while David had a look that Elizabeth could only describe as being very confused.

Kyle stood closer to her, only a few steps in front of her, his back was turned to her, so she couldn’t see his face, but it was quite obvious, judging by his stance to assume that he was either angry or amused, or maybe both.

“Now… what were you planning on doing with that?” Carson was saying, making her eyes move back towards him, he was smirking, “You don’t think that it could actually cause any of us damage, do you?” he facial expression didn’t change as he spoke.

“Shut up, you fucking leech… tell me where my sister is now!” Liam answered, his voice raising slightly in volume as he said each word. Elizabeth just looked at him, wondering if it was a good idea to let him know that she was standing in the same room as he was. She thought better of it… and that was only because he looked rather nervous as it was and nervousness and guns don’t mix. He might accidentally shoot it and it might actually hit her.

“Or what?” Carson asked, still looking more amused than pissed off.

Elizabeth didn’t wait to hear her brother’s answer; instead she slowly backed away from the scene in front of her, trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to be caught. Though, she needn’t have bothered since every single eye in the room was fixated on her brother. The fact that she hadn’t been noticed yet was a bit surprising, but she had no time to dwell on it.

She had ever intention of finding some way out of here while everyone was too busy to pay attention to her. She loved her brother, but this was such a great opportunity and she just couldn’t let it pass by. Besides, he had a gun… plus she had every intention of going around outside and coming up behind him to help him if she needed to.

She had thought that everyone was too busy watching her brother to have seen her leave the room, but by the time she realized that she was not the only one in the small hallway leading towards the kitchen it was too late.

A hand came out of nowhere and wrapped tightly around her mouth, making her scream of surprise come out as a dull moan. The other hand wrapped firmly around her stomach and yanked her into a hard chest. Her small ‘oof’ was practically silenced by the hand still covering her mouth.

“And where do you think you’re going? Hmm..?” David’s breath was abnormally hot against her cool skin.

She tried to call him something quite rude, but his hand prevented anything coherent from leaving her mouth.

He chuckled, “Not so tough now, are you?” he sounded amused, she could feel his breath on her neck and it was way too close. She shivered slightly, it had been days since she had been this close to the boy and she didn’t like the newly returned feelings that his close proximity brought. “Am I making you uncomfortable?” he asked, the smirk evident in his voice. He was obviously enjoying this. Sick bastard, she thought rather loudly, on purpose so that he would hear it.

He didn’t get offended like he was supposed to, instead, he chuckled darkly, “You think this is sick? You have no idea how sick I can be.” he said before he nipped playfully at her neck, not enough to draw blood or to really hurt her for that matter, it was just enough to startle her and freak her out even more than she already was. If that was at all even possible.

David smirked, she was obviously terrified… he didn’t even have to see her eyes or read her mind to see that, it was written clearly in her actions. He could hear her heartbeat and could feel her shiver every time he shifted his hands or any part of his body that was touching her. Of course her continuous attempts to get out of his grasp were pathetic, but amusing nonetheless.

The sudden feeling of her teeth biting the flesh of his palm knocked him out of his thoughts and made him jerk his hand away from her mouth and bringing the hand up to his face to inspect the damage her teeth had caused. She hadn’t broken the skin, but that didn’t mean it hadn’t hurt. A lot. He tightened his grip around her waist as he continued to stare at his other hand.

“You bit me.” he noted, still staring at the teeth marks embedded into the palm of his hand. “That’s what I’m supposed to do.” he said. “And, might I add that it’s even more tempting with the smell of your blood in the air.”

Elizabeth glared at him, trying to cover up the fact that what he had said really scared her. Though, she needn’t have bothered since he could tell that she was scared; he could hear and feel her heartbeat speed up at those words, he smirked; well, at least he was able to scare her. He shifted over to the left side of her neck, mostly because it was just a better angle for him. Not that he planned to bite her, although the idea was rather tempting… with her being on her period.

Though, there was a band-aid on this side on her neck, which pretty much made it impossible for him to bit her from this position. He stared at it for a few seconds, but then his eyes were drawn to something else. Her shirt had shifted over her shoulder during the struggle and Kyle’s tattoo was plainly visible.

“Let go of me you bastard!” Elizabeth ordered, saying her first words in several minutes. She had been too busy breathing in gulps of air and trying to remain calm to speak before.

“I can’t believe he actually marked you.” he muttered so softly that even in their close proximity it was hard for her to hear. And, he really couldn’t. It had been several years-centuries really- since Kyle had marked anyone. At least from what he knew… they hadn’t had contact for almost two hundred years after all.

Elizabeth stopped her struggling long enough to feel him trace the small tattoo with his finger.

“What-” Elizabeth never even got to finish asking her question because the next thing she knew he had shoved her, rather roughly, up against the wall. She winced at the pain that was now radiating from her stomach on up, but didn’t have much time to dwell on it because as quickly as he had shoved her into the wall, he turned her around to face him. His hands came to rest just above her shoulders, making any attempt at escape futile, at least for now.

She stared up at him, a look of pure confusion on her face. She opened her mouth to, once again, attempt to say something, but this time she wasn’t even able to get a word out because David’s lips came crashing down to meet hers.

Once she got over the initial shock of the action, she found herself kissing him back with more enthusiasm than with Kyle. It was that thought that really scared her, but she was still unable to rip her lips away from his. He was such a damn good kisser!

He broke the kiss first, but only to trail kisses down her neck to rest just above the band-aid, which he ripped off with his teeth and threw carelessly to the floor. Elizabeth winced at the action, but didn’t pull away. The scars from the bite were still there, he was surprised Kyle hadn’t healed her. It wasn’t like him to leave evidence like that.

“What are you doing?” she was able to ask.

“He marked you, but didn’t heal the bite wound?”

“He didn’t bite me, you jerk.”

“Really? Then who did?”

“Why the hell do you want to know?” she asked, suspiciously.

He shrugged, “No reason really… mostly just curious. Kyle doesn’t usually let anyone bite those who he has marked.”

She looked at him, but finally gave in. Seeming to think that telling him something like this was rather harmless, “If you must know, it was Eric.” she said.

David arched an eyebrow and opened his mouth, but Elizabeth beat him to it.

“Is that all? Because if it is I would really like to go… I have better things to do then stand here in your presence.” she pointed out, beginning to struggle slightly.

“Like what? Trying to escape?”

She just stared at him.

He snorted at her silence, “I’m not stupid, Elizabeth. Everyone else is preoccupied with something else and this is the perfect time for you to at least attempt to leave.”

“Your point?” she asked, arching an eyebrow questionably at him.

“You’d be a complete moron if you didn’t at least try. And you are anything but stupid. ” he explained, “I had a feeling that you were going to try something anyway.”

“What the hell are you doing here anyway?” she asked, changing the subject rather abruptly. “My father’s dead, you got what you wanted.”

David gave her a knowing smirk, “Not quite…” he muttered softly, tracing her face lightly with his hand, making her shiver at the contact.

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“Exactly what I said… I haven’t gotten everything I wanted.”

She stared at him, more confused then every, what the hell did that mean? She hadn’t realized she had voiced her thoughts until David answered her, “There’s something in this house that I want and I’m not leaving until I get it.”

Elizabeth just looked at him, trying very hard not to think about what this “something” was, but she had a pretty good idea, and it disgusted her. She scrunched her nose up at the notion and tried to sneak under his arm, now feeling very uncomfortable with their close proximity. He stopped her

“You know what I want?”

“I have an idea.” she admitted.

He looked at her expectantly, “if you think I’m going to tell you, I’m not. There’s a part of me that is hoping, no praying, that I’m wrong.” she explained. “And, I don’t do that very often.” she added.

“I want you.”

She stared at him. Granted that had been what she have been expecting to hear, but to actually hear him say it was quite different than just expecting. At least with expecting, there was always the chance that what was anticipated wouldn’t happen.

“I’m not some object that you can lay claim to.” she said once she got over her initial shock, though it wasn’t that bad since she had kind of seen it coming. Then again, that didn’t make it much better.

He smirked at her, while she just stared at him. Though, she was expecting him to say what he did, that didn’t make it any less confusing. “Why would you want me? I thought that you didn’t even like me?”

“Hmm… wouldn’t you like to know?” his smirked widened as he said it and Elizabeth’s eyes darkened and narrowed, that answer was so not helpful

She opened her mouth to retaliate, but never got to. Though, that might have been a good thing because she really had no good comeback anyway.

“David! What the hell are you doing?” Kyle voice sounded from a few feet away from the couple.

“Nothing that concerns you, dear brother.” David, merely glanced at him before turning his attention back to the girl he still had pinned to the wall.

He watched her eyes grow wide with something akin to shock when she suddenly realized what the last words out of his mouth had been.

“Whatever concerns Elizabeth, concerns me.” Kyle said coolly, arms crossed over his chest.

“Why? Because you love her?” David asked, sounding almost disgusted at the concept.

“Don’t act like that David… I know very well that you can love just like I can.”

David’s eyes narrowed at the comment, catching the hidden meaning behind the words, “Katherine has nothing to with this.”

“You sure?”

“Yes!” David snarled, taking his arms off Elizabeth to turn fully to face his brother “And even if she did… it’s your fucking fault she’s dead.”

The two brothers glared at each other, seeming to forget the girl for a few minutes.

Kyle sighed, “My fault? It’s been almost two hundred years David, let it go already. Staying angry at me is not going to bring her back.” Kyle said, “and trying to seduce or kill the girl that I’m attracted to is not going to change that either.” he noted, glancing at Elizabeth for a split second.

“I was doing neither of those things.” David said, scoffing, “I don’t even like brunettes.” David knew he was, at least partially, lying through his teeth, but he also really didn’t care.

Kyle rolled his eyes, “Then what were you doing pushing her up against the wall? No doubt saying something to either piss her off or make her completely disgusted with you, if she isn’t already that is.” Kyle added as an after thought.

David glared at him and turned back to face the girl, intending to ignore his brother. She was staring, her wide eyes glancing from him to Kyle and back again, a look of pure confusion on her face.

Now, it was quite obvious that the two were siblings… Elizabeth couldn’t believe that she hadn’t noticed it before, but then again, she was a little preoccupied with other things. They had the same hair color and were the same height, if it weren’t for the drastic change in eye color, they could have passed for twins. She was surprised she hadn’t noticed it before, but it had never even occurred to her, they acted so different from one another, at least some of the time… it didn’t really seem possible to her.

“Get your filthy hands off of me.” she snarled, trying to wrench herself out of his grasp, but that only caused her to wince for his grip only tightened on her upper arms. She glanced at Kyle, who was standing there, being completely unhelpful; she glanced back at David, and was met with his mouth on hers. She let out a startled gasp, not expecting the action, which gave him full rein of her mouth.

Before the kiss could actually get started, he was pulled roughly off her, so hard that he banged into the opposite wall. She knew who had done it before her eyes met Kyle’s. She stared at him as he turned to face his brother, who had gotten up and was standing against the opposite wall.

“What the hell was that?” David asked.

“Stay the hell away from Elizabeth.” Kyle nearly growled out through gritted teeth.

David opened his mouth, obviously about ready to give a retort that wasn’t very nice, but Elizabeth’s hand suddenly connecting with his face changed his plans. He let out a growl of surprise and grabbed hold of his throbbing nose, wincing slightly. She’s hadn’t broken it, but it still hurt.

“That’s what you get, you good for nothing bastard.” she snarled, glaring at him as he stared at her, over the hand that was holding his aching nose.

Kyle was smirking at his brother, thinking how much he deserved that. Though, he was too busy smirking in triumphant at the glare David was sending him, to notice the hand that came up to smack him rather hard in the face.

He winced, not expecting the blow and stared in awe at the girl in front of him, who was now glaring at him instead of his brother. “What was that for?”

She sent him a glare as she shrugged, “Mostly because you thought you weren’t going to get slapped.” she said, she poked him in the chest for good measure before she crossed her arms over her chest and stared at him… her look wasn’t one of a hate or anger, just one of confusion really. “I don’t think I’ve ever been so confused in my life.” she muttered softly, staring up at him.

“What’s there to be confused about?”

She gave him a knowing look, “Well, for one thing: how the hell can you two actually be related and two, my brain doesn’t know what it wants, but my heart sure does.”

Kyle shrugged, “It’s quite a long story, really…” he trailed off, looking intensely down at her, “and what does your brain and your heart want?” he asked, softly.

She sighed, “I can’t even begin to explain it.”

“Hmm… maybe this will help?” he asked, sounding mischievous, but before she could so much as think about what his words actually meant, his lips came crashing down to meet hers and every thought in her head was completely wiped out. And she pretty much melted, if it weren’t for his strong grip around her waist, she would have definitely fallen, since her knees became too weak to support her.

When they pulled apart, Elizabeth was breathless. She stared up at him, her face only inches from his. “How was that supposed to help me with anything?” she asked.

He shrugged, “Don’t know. Though, I do know that I want to do that again… very, very much.” he smirked down at her

“I never thought I’d see the day that my brother fell in love.” David just had to ruin that perfect moment, didn’t he?

Elizabeth turned to glare at him and give a retort, “Don’t be jealous, David. It’s not his fault he’s not a jackass like you. Maybe if you weren’t such a conceited bastard a girl would actually like to spend time with you.”

David stared at her; he looked a little hurt at her words. Making Elizabeth stop smiling for a moment because the look he was giving her made her feel kind of guilty. “Why are you giving me that look?” she asked.

He just shrugged before he walked away, leaving the two alone in the hallway.

Elizabeth and Kyle just stood there, staring after him for a few seconds before they turned to look at one another, it was silent for a few seconds before Elizabeth spoke, changing the subject, “Please tell me that my brother didn’t accidently shoot himself.” were the first words out of her mouth.

Kyle snorted, “No… no he didn’t.”

Elizabeth let out a breath she hadn’t realized she had been showing, well, at least he was alive. And that was always better than being dead, at least in her book it did. “Good.” she started, “but what was with all the gunshots?”

“He was just shooting at the ceiling, trying to be scary, I think. Though, he did annoy Carson quite a bit”

“What did that bastard do to him?”

Kyle shrugged, “I’m not sure really… I left to look for you before I could see. But, believe me, Elizabeth… he’s not dead.”

“You sure?” she asked, looking up at him.

“Yes.” he nodded.

She sighed, “I hope you’re right. I don’t think I can take any more deaths right now.” she noted, trying hard to cry, but somewhat failing since a lonely tear trailed itself down her cheek. Though, it didn’t make it that far down her cheek because Kyle wiped it away with his thumb. At the same time, he lifted her face up so that they were looking into each others eyes.

“I know.” he said softly, leaning down to obviously place a kiss on Elizabeth’s lips, but before he could, there was the sound of a throat being cleared rather loudly that made them pull apart rather quickly.

Andy stood near the end of the hallway, right outside the kitchen doorway.

Elizabeth let out a small gasp at the sight of him. It had been several days since she had seen him and seeing him now was just… weird. Last time she had seen him and Kyle she was angry at them, well more Andy, since that was when she had just found out that he was very much alive, well alive in the fact that he was able to walk But now… she wasn’t really angry… at least not anymore. She was still a little upset, but that was it.

“Hi.” she said softly, once she got over her initial shock of seeing him there.

He never got to answer her though because Kyle spoke before he could say anything, “Where have you been?”

Andy looked at Elizabeth; in that one glance she saw nervousness, as if what he had been doing was anything to be embarrassed about in the first place. He glanced back at Kyle and shrugged, “Out.” he said simply.

Elizabeth looked at him for a moment, trying to figure out why he would feel embarrassed to say that in front of her and then it hit her. She tried to keep her face passive, she didn’t want to hurt his feelings, but this knew discovery was rather disgusting.

“Elizabeth, don’t give me that look.”

“What look?” she asked, almost innocently.

“You look disgusted…” he trailed off.

She just stared at him, “Well, what do you expect me to feel Andy? Excuse me for finding it rather revolting that my once boyfriend of almost two years is now some blood sucking leech.”

His look turned dark as he took some offense to her words. “If you’re so disgusted by what I am, then why the hell are you holding his hand, when he’s the one that made me this way?”

Elizabeth jerked her hand out of Kyle’s, somewhat angry that she had been holding his hand the whole time and not realizing it in the first place.

“And, while we’re on the subject, why the hell are- were- you holding his hand when he is a vampire, just like myself?”

“Andy… I knew you when you were alive, I actually saw you lying dead in your coffin. I actually thought you were dead. I didn’t know him when he was alive, nor was he my almost two year boyfriend when he was alive. And I also didn’t see him lying dead in his coffin and cried over his death for nearly a month.”

“You cried that long?”

“Of course I did! You were my boyfriend of almost two years, Andy!” that was the third time she had said that in the past ten minutes, she was starting to feel like a broken record, “what did you expect me to do? I just didn’t get over you within a week. I couldn’t do that.”

They stared at each other for a few seconds. Kyle just stood in between the two waiting for them to stop fighting for he though it would be better to just let them fight this out, he would oversee to make sure no one got hurt.

“Are you over me now?” he asked softly.

“I don’t know.” she answered just as softly. “My heart is so confused right now…” she trailed off, “I mean, there’s you, Kyle and David. But, I- I don’t think I love you anymore Andy… I moved on. I mean, I’m glad, well sorta, that you’re alive, but that doesn’t change much. I fell in love again before I knew you weren’t really dead”

He just stared at her for at least several minutes, “I understand Lizzie.” he said, “Well, I hope you two have a nice life then.” and before she or Kyle could stop him, he was gone.

Elizabeth stared after him, sighing before she turned back to Kyle, “I think it’s time that I accept it. I don’t know how it happened and I know it’s wrong on so many different levels, but… I’m completely in love with you. I-”

Kyle interrupted her again with his mouth, kissing her deeply and leaving her breathless when he pulled away, “How can something that feels so right, be wrong?” he whispered against her lips.

She stared at him, which was rather difficult due to their close proximity, but she managed. She looked at him for a few moments before grabbing hold of his head and forcing it the very short distance so their lips met once again.

As she began kissing him more vigorously than before, she vaguely wondered when and how her life had become such a soap opera…

Ha, there it is! Man, I hate this chapter, I rewrote it several times and this the best I could do… oh well, this chapter will definitely be rewritten when I rewrite this story again. But, no it’s not over! There are six more chapters to go… and a possible sequel in the works at well (but don’t get your hopes up, I’m just playing with the idea at the moment… can’t really think of a decent plot for a sequel). If you have any questions or confusions about anything in this chapter, everything should be cleared up soon. I hope to have the next chapter up soon, but I can’t make any promises, writer’s block hasn’t really gone away, but I will try to get it up as soon as I can, so until then… see ya and review!

Oh, P.S. please go visit my profile, I have nice poll for you to take!
