Cold Kisses

8/31/06

Cold kisses—

Memories of what we once shared.

Hot passionate nights,

Romantic entanglings

Of bodies and souls

Mixing, stirring

And becoming one.

But,

Now—

Left alone in the darkness

Of night

Alone, without you,

I cry, weeping,

Break open the doors of my heart.

Why aren’t you here?

Why can’t we be together?

But life happens…

Even though

What we shared was

More than just kisses,

More than just a mere attraction.

Romantic entanglings

Of bodies and souls

Brought us together,

But life tore us from

One another’s arms.

And all I have left of you,

Honey, is

Cold Kisses.
