Mona Lisa

Let me be your Mona Lisa
And you can paint me
With all the words I need to hear.

Whisper to me your secrets
And your innermost desires,
Then color me a backdrop
Where I can silently scream them
To the world to come.

Together we’ll make a masterpiece –
I’ll be your abstract beauty
With a smile full of mystery,
Eyes full of misery,
And a story of her own…
Just make sure to capture
The strangled beating
Of my weathered heart
As I watch you walk away
Forever.
Let our love live on
Eternal,
Embedded in this lying canvas,
Pretending
That it didn’t end this way.

Together we’d have made a masterpiece
If you’d have only let me be your muse.
