(( M y - D e a r - V i v i a n e ))

The sky promises butterfly kisses in the hopes that love will blossom with the year to come, but who knows when acid lies will rain?

Prologue (Cause and Effect)

The newly fallen leaves rustled as the horseman galloped swiftly to the Creastferd keep with the vengeance in his cold, calculating heart. Vengeance will be mine Creastferd just as your daughter will be mine. You thought a little boy of eight wouldn’t remember your name once uttered or the pungent odor of burning flesh that clings to your very soul. Nor did you comprehend that the same little boy would survive to take back what once was his. Blood will stain your hands no matter how much you wash them clean.

(Part 1) Dramatic Irony

What you never know, my sweet, will never hurt you. I have you where I want you—yes the time will come…

“Marry me, love.”

She seemed to hesitate for a brief second until her blue eyes brightened, “ I…I…will.”

“You make me the happiest man in the world.”

“Don’t tease me, Edward.”

He then bends down to kiss her rose red lips.

Yes, I have here where I want her; it will not be long till I get what I deserve from her father.

“Marriage to you will be my new adventure, my sweet,” he whispered in her ear.

(Part 2 ) Future Outcome

Time in this dank dungeon comes and goes just as my faith has died. I have been here for ten long years. The memory of my dear beloved has faded, but how vivid the twinge of remembrance of her death. My sweet, I loved you well… His face gnawed with bitterness as tears came forth unannounced. I could have saved us all if I only would have listened to my heart. Now I am crippled with only one eye to see from. The years are silently killing me. He laughed with malice—yes I am dying, and who will remember you now. Maybe it is time for me to leave this world for I have diminutive faith in the ways of mankind. They seem to allow their emotions to control their every motive. A time will come when there will be no more to fight for. Lust has only lead me to this cell to remember you my dear Viviane. Sleep can only come to the weary in this dread.

(Part 3) Flashback

“Viviane, why don’t you come in from the rain? You will catch a cold.”

“Nonsense rain is only water and water is what fills your bathtub.”

She danced in the rain with her new gown of satin staining it to no repair.

“Love, you are ruing your gown. Don’t you want to be warm by the fire,” his voice strained as he tried to hold at bay the worry.

Her bound golden tangled hair bounced free of its bondage as she jumped in the prime puddle. Her giddy laughter didn’t ease the silent fear that was notice in his deep brown eyes.

“Dear don’t worry so. I haven’t been this blissful in ages. Why can’t you come out here with me? You use to love the rain,” as her eyes gleamed with mischief while she pulled him from his post by the doorway out into the rain.

With a devious smirk he said, “We are to old for such child’s play. Why don’t you come inside?”

The rain had soaked her gown so it stuck to her body showing every crevice. His only instinct was to hold her in his arms and never let go of the jewel he had found like a dragon horded its treasure. He let out a husky sigh as he ardently kissed her.

(Part 4) Logical Conclusion

The dream was interrupted as he heard the heavy serving door clang open leaving only acidic emptiness to fill his heart. He could no longer eat or sleep for he knows his time was near, so near. His aching aged body lay still in the darkest place of hell—the pain grows to immense to bear…

“Oh, Viviane, my sweet, my love, I have waited so long for your touch.”

Her golden hair gracefully fell down her back sending pleasure throughout his body as her crystal blue eyes where full of love. The blue gown modestly showed her hourglass figure.

Awe she has waited for me out in the rain.

“I have been waiting for you, Edward. Did you think that I would forget you?”

Then she led him towards the luminous light that sent a pleasant calm over his tense body.

He asked in admiration, “Where are you taken me, Viviane?”

“A place where all men akin to you shall go in there own time.”

Fear tugged at his stomach, as he smelled brimstone in the heated air that seemed to radiate from his very being.

Note from the Author

Fact and Opinion

What could be said about a love that started from vengeance for the facts where clearly leading to disaster, but it is in my heart that love no matter the form will be everlasting in the hands of the right holder.

Theme

Vengeance breaks you, makes you, and leads down the road to tragedy that silently lurks in the dark waiting its time to shine the menacing rays.

Symbol

Edward through is seething hatred leads him to revenge that teaches him to love. With this love his heart is broken when she dies dramatically that causes him to repent in prison for a crime that he didn’t commit to only be taken to hell by his dear Viviane.

Tone

The way Edward repents for the way he allowed his love to die when he believed he could have saved her remains in his conscience perhaps giving him the allusion of hell as he thinks he is dying, which makes the tone of the story dramatic or even sullen.
