Dream Sequence

She craves something like the wind every time she feels this way,

Something to blow away her transgressions when they appear.

She craves a higher force, something that will lift her,

Pull her away from what seems to be weighing her down.

Those inklings of doubt that seem to seep in,

Worry settles between the nooks of her mind.

No matter how certain of it she is,

She worries that at some point the dream will end.

Words shared hold their weight,

But worry weighs more in the theoretical realm.

While these thoughts may seem foolish in a few moments,

For now the worry seems to burrow through the depths of her soul.

It shakes her,

If only for a moment.

Words seem transparent, feelings feel foolish;

And she’s left, scared.

What happens if this dream crumbles?

What happens if this, of all her hopes, crashes?

She knows she has the strength to recover.

She’s done it before, and she could easily do it again.

But this time,

After this experience,

Would she want to recover?

Would she want to take another chance?

Seventeen years sleeping,

Two months awoken;

Feeling alive, reborn, and blissful.

Confident in her hopes, set in her worries.

Will this dream end?
