Hands of gauze:
Dug deep with dirt from crossroads
Fragmented joints, aching and throbbing
Are smothered by sunlight;
Fleeting blanket of the day
-
Cherry blossom bloom:
Crystal on the edge of morning dew
Teacups, pollen and cotton fruit
A stirring praise to fallen petals
Soon to kiss the sky once more
-
In silence of heart:
Hand in hand together pleat
Silt as rich as sugar golden,
The old man fills the precious pot
With the promise of his return
-
From the silken earth man doth come
And to the earth he shall return;
In utterance, in song and in labour
While his soul shall thread
The tapestry of time.
