When the Devil saw the Angel

The Devil was walking his way,

When of an Angel saw he the wings,

To his surprise she spoke a song,

The song that he used to sing.

So to the Angel he walked so wary,

For he knew angels thought him scary,

But the Angel saw him smile,

For he'd been there for a while,

Watching her dance in the snow.

She smiled back with the fullest mirth,

To the Fallen Angel watching her play,

She beckoned him to the shadowy girth,

And there they stayed for the day.

They spoke of life and death,

And the fate after the last breath,

For each had seen one side,

In Heaven, In Hell they each reside.

But the day was turning into night,

The Angel spoke of dark love and beauty,

And blush the Devil did,

For it came from the mouth of this innocent cutie,

Of all his compassion he thought he'd rid.

The pain caused by his lost redemption,

And longing to the choir of angles once more,

To have that desire denied with tension,

In a maddened rage he had swore,

One day he would hear them again.

Before the Devil asked the Angel sang,

And clearly her voice rang,

She sang to him and made him smile,

He forgot he the Devil for a while.

As the Angel made to leave,

He lightly touched her shift,

She'd lifted his heart so bereaved,

So he gently gave her a kiss,

And watched the angel go.

That winter day had pierced his soul,

Through his darkness her light flowed,

Till the day they'd meet once more,

He'll be standing, waiting on death's shore.
