The warmth of her body
The silk of her hair
Willowey legs entwined

The sound of her breathing
Rocking me now
You and me, one line

My arms curl around her
Keeping her close
Wanting to save her heart

I breathe in her smell
And watch chest rise
Everything plays its part

Right next to her
Makes me feel safe
And gently I start to sleep

For the first time in many
As I sit and I dream
My thoughts don’t make me weep

I wake up to the feeling
Of you leaving me
But keep my eyes closed tight

I hear her talk
In a wearied voice
Sleep blurring your sight

Then she gets back into bed
Her arms round me
Her body following mine

And I can sleep again
And hope that one day
Our hearts will intertwine .
