colder calculations slip to my tongue
regarding the warm aesthetics of a word
thread my admiration forward to captivation
elsewhere, identical syllables cause an opposite reaction
the heart withdraws to famine amidst abundance
measures drawn to keep me calm at this

precipice

where I discover the blanket value of silence
my voice pressured into glacial conservation
less we pry and slice
discover the detached voice of rationality
crooning from a corner
cauldroned recipes of the ingredients
necessary for my scales to tip, trip
slip, and come to equal this inequation

I sense my standing
