Today certainly wasn’t one of his favourite days, Owen decided as he climbed the stars of his apartment complex. It was Friday and his class time table was always full that day. From 8 am to 5 pm. He usually got cranky near the end and if he already got cranky, imagine the state of his students. Plus he taught history. Putting that as the last class from 4 to 5 pm on the Friday was pure torture. It was no wonder that the names of the time table makers were kept a secret from the students.

It was currently 7 pm though. He had eaten in a restaurant on his way home. He was not up for cooking himself. He wasn’t exactly a kitchen princess…uh prince. But he couldn’t often go out to eat with what he made, being a teacher.

He pulled his bag right that hung across his back diagonally, the cord that it was attached to, biting in his shoulder.

His long fingers then slid into his jeans pocket, grabbing his keys as he got to his floor. Well long fingers compared to the rest of him. He barely reached 5.3 ft. He got that from his mother. She wasn’t tall at all where as his father was average height. But he was used to being the shortest among company. He grew up around people at least a good few heads taller then him. It had been really refreshing when his fathers girlfriend and his two half-sisters were shorter then him though he did recall that Gabrella hadn’t much appreciated that comment when he had made it to his father. She had appreciated even less when his father had laughed and had grabbed his ear, pulling him away. His father was so whooped, though he always denied it vigorously.

Owen came near the end of the hallway and his apartment. His fingers found the key to the door as he switched the mail he held in his other hand into being held by two fingers as he reached his door, nr 114 in apartment complex G. It was small but good enough for him. He even had a balcony, looking over the joined garden, so he wasn’t complaining at all.

He put his knuckles of the hand holding the mail, just above the key opening before putting his key in and twisting it, putting his full body weight against the door. The door jammed and he wasn’t exactly a heavy-weight but it opened every time nonetheless and this time it certainly wasn’t any different.

He closed the door behind him, dropping his key and mail on the nearby table. He went straight to his answering machine and played all his messaged.

The first one was from his father, he knew that after the first few second that were silent as were the following seconds. A few minutes passed before you heard anything.

Hey where did the ringing tone go too?” Yep that was his father.

You got the answering machine, stupid.!” And that was his fathers best friend, Yasashiko.

Oh….what is that?” And this his father put the horn on.

Owen rolled his eyes. His father seemed pretty dense but he only didn’t know because he didn’t care enough to remember anything about technology. His father never was good with things like phones, faxes, computers, ovens.

The next one followed suit. “It’s Gabrella. Your father just went off into one of his little rants so I’ll ask for him.” She seemed to hesitate there. “Your father has something important to tell you so we’d like it if you’d come to diner tomorrow evening. Just let us know whenever. Bye.”

Owen wondered what was so important his father couldn’t tell him over the phone. He usually told him everything over the phone. He made a mental note to call them tomorrow morning.

There followed some other messages from co-workers, some random people and Paniz (Gabrella’s daughter). It wasn’t anything special or important and he frowned.

He was expecting a call from someone for three weeks now. Nothing important, just that persons usual nonsense but he wanted to hear it. Just a sign of life from Jadyn. He didn’t know why though. The other male always was bugging him and he always tried to get rid of him. Yet now he wasn’t around….

He shook his head and took of his coat. He went into his bedroom with it and dropped it on the chair there. Joshua had introduced him to Jadyn a while ago. Actually Joshua had bribed him into going on a date with the other man. He really regretted that as he unbuttoned a few buttons from his white shirt and pulled of his shoes.

On his socks he left his bed room and headed towards the table near the door. He grabbed his mail and looked through it. One grabbed his attention and he opened it. He hauled his reading glasses out of the pocket of his white shirt and slid it on his nose. His eyesight was getting poorer and poorer. It was unfortunately something that ran through the Parker bloodline.

“Dear Mr. Owen L. Parker, we received work blah blah blah blah.” Owen read out loud. He always hated letter that beated around the bush with big fancy words. Oh well at least now he knew he had a place to stay at this summer when he went to Africa. They didn’t need to write an essay about that.

He was startled out of his thoughts when the bell rang. The bell was quite loud when you stood close to the door.

Owen opened the door and was met by bright gentle green eyes. Involuntarily a wave of relief washed through him. “Jadyn.”

“Surprise!” The taller blond beamed out. “Did you miss me?”

“No.” Was the automatic response out of Owens mouth. He hadn’t. Not by a long shot. He was just glad the other man wasn’t dead or something.

For a change, Jadyn didn’t react to that as he usually did. “So are you going to let me in? I’ve been waiting for hours.”

“Liar.” Owen replied as he turned around, leaving the door open for Jadyn the door. “If you had, you would’ve been standing in front of the door when I arrived.” He put his glasses and letter on the table before turning around to face the blond.

Jadyn however was standing right behind him which he hadn’t expected. He took a step backwards but then already stood against the table and cursed himself for not paying attention as to where the blond was.

The blond grinned at him though and did a big step forward so that now his body was close to Owens. He moved his head forward. “Booo!”

Owens brown eyes narrowed at that and was ready to retort as his body lost some of its initial tenseness from Jadyn being so close when Jadyns mouth moved over his. He froze. Jadyns lips were soft he thought and a soft pleasant volt went through his body.

That thought snapped him out of his freeze though and he pushed the blond away from him violently. His voice was barely above a whisper when he spoke. “I’ve told you, don’t do that.” He glared straight at the blond. He was not going down this road with him.

Jadyn didn’t meet his eyes for a while though, his shoulders slumped a bit. Maybe he had pushed him away a bit to roughly.

But then the mans head snapped up and a pout was present. “Won’t you allow me a welcome back kiss?”

“No. You know my view on this damn well Jadyn.” He realised as he said this he resembled his father quite a bit.

Jadyn ignored him however and came towards him. Owen tensed up right away again. “Jadyn.” He said slowly but he kept advancing on him and then leaned passed him.

Jadyn had the letter in his hand and smiled teasingly. “Wow, Mr. Owen L. Parker huh.” He emphasized the Mr.

Owen looked at him searchingly for a while. The blond usually switched subjects when he was hurt, he had noticed this in the six months he had known him. He also knew that the male switched it back to this topic later though.

“That’s none of your business.” He tried snatching it out of his hands but Jadyn kept it high above his head, using his height to his advantage. If he could glare it out of Jadyns hand he’d gladly would. “Give it back.”

“No.”

“You’re such a child.”

“I know.” And a loopy grin accompanied that reply.

“It’s not something to be proud of.” Owen stated with a scowl.

“Why not?”

“Because you’re a grown-up.” He didn’t need another big child like his father in his life. And what was he thinking anyway? Jadyn wasn’t apart of his life, not in that way anyway.

“But I’m the younger one by quite a few years. I’m suppose to be the immature one in this relationship.”

Owen wanted to reply with ‘what relationship?’, but held his tongue for some reason and looked away.

Because Owen stayed non-reactive after that, Jadyn seemed to decide that this game was no fun anymore and put the letter back down on the table. Then he struggled himself out of his coat and hung it over one of the stairs.

In the three weeks he hadn’t seen him, Jadyn seemed to have gotten a little thinner and paler which he did not find a good sign and he wondered what could’ve caused that, Owen mused as he took in the sight of the other man. Jadyns blond bangs fell in front of his green eyes and he brushed them away, slightly annoyed by it. He wore a black t-shirt and jeans that fitted his body perfectly. The t-shirt was a little short or his pants were just that low, but when Jadyn stretched himself out with a yawn, Owen saw a good glimpse of the mans toned stomach.

Jadyn grinned lazily at him. “Haven’t slept so well lately.”

“How come?” Owen questioned as he stood still on the same spot awkwardly even though it was his own apartment. He watched as Jadyn flopped down on his couch.

“Don’t know.” Jadyn replied with a shrug before patting on the empty space beside him on the couch. “Sit down Owen. I won’t bite, promise.”

“You say that now..” Owen replied as he slowly walked towards the couch, not taking his eyes of the blond for a second. “You want something to drink now that you have invited yourself over to stay for the evening as it seems.”

Jadyn pulled an innocent look. “Coffee please if you have it.”

As Owen walked towards the kitchen, he kept glancing back to make sure the blond kept his seat which he surprisingly did. He was glad. Now he could make the coffee without any interruptions. He himself didn’t like coffee but he always had it just in case someone decided to drop by like his neighbours. Luckily they didn’t do it often.

He grabbed the package with powder coffee and made preparations for the coffee before putting on the coffee machine. Then he grabbed, two mugs and went to his refrigerator. He poured himself some ice-tea. He sipped from it a bit as he waited for the coffee to be finished.

“Would you like something with it, Jadyn?”

“No that’s okay. I’m not hungry.” Owen frowned at that answer. Usually he loved munching on a cookie but didn’t give reaction to it.

Since the coffee was only for one person the coffee was finished quicker. Owen poured the coffee into the light blue mug. “Do you drink it with anything, sugar, milk?”

“A bit of milk please.” Jadyn’s voice seemed a bit softer then before but he didn’t pay much attention to it as he grabbed the milk from the refrigerator. He poured the milk into the mug just as two arms sneaked it’s way around his waist.

It scared the living crap out of him and he poured more milk in the coffee then necessary. He swatted at the arms with his free hand but sighed in defeat when Jadyn laid his chin on his shoulder. “Don’t do that Jadyn.” He should just put a bell around his legs when he let Jadyn into his apartment. He never heard him approach out of all the times the blond made his surprise attacks.

“Sorry if I surprised you.”

“You’re coffee is ruined now you know.” Owen said as he tried to ignore the tingles that shot through his body where Jadyn was touching him.

“Don’t care.” And he sighed deeply with that as he leaned his head to Owens, his arms tightening around Owens waist. Owen swallowed deeply. The tingles had just intensified and there was a strange feeling in his stomach. He hated to admit it but he kind of liked this feeling, Jadyn so close to him.

Normally the blond liked to surprise glomp Owen all the time but he never really cuddled. Not like this. Maybe the blond was in a gloomy mood and needed to cuddle. It could be possible, he just had never seen it before. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine..now.” Owen noted that his voice was different from before. “You may not have missed me but I certainly missed you, Owen.” He whispered in his ear, one of his hands slowly slipping under Owens shirt, making Owen shiver. His voice sounded sad but before Owen could reply he changed the subject. “And I’m not a lair.”

“Huh?” Owen glanced back at Jadyn. “What are you talking about.”

“You called me a liar earlier, remember.” He pouted. “I did wait for hours. But my battery was low of my cell and I had to call someone so I asked your neighbour, Callie, if I could use her phone.”

“I see.”

“She’s a nice girl, Callie. Pretty too. I might ask her out since you won’t respond to my affections.” His pout intensified before snuggling Owens neck who bit his lip at that. “I think she will say yes.”

“If you’re trying to make me jealous. It isn’t working. You’re gay remember.” But there was that unfamiliar sensation that ran through him when he had said that.

“Bisexual.”

“Really?” Owen frowned. Joshua, the person who introduced them, never mentioned that. He wasn’t sure though why the image of Callie and Jadyn together bothered him so much.

“Yep.” He put a small kiss on Owens neck and Owen just knew he was grinning when he did that, before he pulled away from Owen. “She seems to have taken a liking to you.”

Owen turned around and glared at Jadyn for the semi-hug. “I know.” He stated with a groan. Why did girls/women always hit on him? He made it perfectly clear right from the start with people he wasn’t looking for someone so there was no reason for them to continuously pursue him. Like Jadyn. He felt a little cold now, with Jadyn no long pressed to his back but he tried to ignore it.

Jadyn smiled gently for a minute before turning around and bouncing off towards the couch. Owen shook his head and turned back to the coffee. He emptied the mug, cleaned it with water and filled the mug with the little coffee that was still left. Now he first looked over his shoulder before he poured the milk with it.

With two mugs in his hand, he headed towards the couch. He put the mug with coffee in front of Jadyn, his own with ice-tea next to it before sitting down next to the blond.

Jadyn grabbed his mug and sipped slowly from it. “You know, a cookie would be nice with this.” He just grinned when Owen glared at him. “So what does the L stand for in the Mr. Owen L. Parker?”

“Lee.”

“Oh I like that. Sexy.” He stated with a wink. “Is it with double e or an i?”

“Double e.”

“My second name starts with an L too.” He took another sip from his coffee. “I really need a cookie with this.”

“Get it yourself.” Owen grunted out. He sighed and ran a hand through his orange hair when Jadyn bounded up and went into the kitchen. He regretted letting the blond in. Sitting close to Jadyn was beginning to be awkward for him. He could feel the blonds body heat, their arms almost touched and it continuously reminded him of either the kiss or the hug earlier. He didn’t want that. He didn’t need that in his life now. He knew he was attracted to the blond but he had never admitted to himself. He figured it was best to start doing that now so he could defend himself against that better.

A few moments later Jadyn reappeared with a box of cookies, one already in his mouth. He put the cookie box next to him on the couch, his other side and Owen lifted his brow at that but didn’t say anything.

“So what is your second name then?” He asked instead.

“London.”

“London?”

“Yep. Jadyn London Smith. Doesn’t it sound like a pop star name?”

“Not really.”

“Mean!”

“No I am not.” Owen stated, looking at him. “You asked me a question and I gave you my honest reply. You would’ve rather had, I lied?”

“Yes.” Owen lifted a brow. “No.” He smiled at that.

“Jadyn means Jade right?” Owen mused as he looked into Jadyn’s eyes. The blond nodded. “They called you that because of your eyes. Why call you London though?”

Jadyn eyes sparkled and he already regretted asking the man that. “Well you know there is a love story in our family. My grandparents of my mothers side weren’t allowed to get married so they had to secretly meet. They always met in a park in London after dark since they both lived just outside of London. They always made love there. I recall my grandfather said they liked it doggy style.”

Owen groaned. “Thanks for providing the mental image.” He really doubted though that his grandfather had said that. He was just trying to get under his skin.

“You’re welcome. Why did you ask though.” Jadyn looked at him curiously.

Owen shrugged. “Name origins always have intrigued me since they usually are old. Each name has it’s general origin and meaning yet also personal for each person named it.” He mused for a minute. “I recall that people thought London has pre-celtic roots.”

“Aaaw.” Jadyn tried to sound interested but he really wasn’t, Owen could tell not even taking the yawn into account. Maybe if he talked a lot about these things, he’d leave him alone. “So what’s the story of your names?”

“Huh? Oh Owen and Lee are the names of my grandfathers from both sides.”

“Oh cool. Are you close to them?”

“No, I’ve never met them.” Owen readjusted his gaze to his mug, feeling Jadyns watchful eyes on him, and grabbed it from the table but didn’t sip from it. This made him think again about why he never met his grandfathers and even though everything happened so long ago, it still hurt.

So he changed the subject. “So where were you these last three weeks.”

“Ah so you did miss me.” The blond beamed.

Owen cursed himself. Damn it why didn’t he think things through when he said things to the blond. He did it with everyone so why could he never do that with this man. “Maybe.” And why could he always make him confess things he didn’t realise himself before he said them? “Why don’t you just answer the question.”

“Well like you always say: none of your business.” Jadyn smiled but didn’t meet Owens eyes when he looked up. His green eyes looked sad for a moment and it reminded him of earlier. Owen wished the man wouldn’t be sad but he didn’t know how to lift it so he just asked for a cookie instead.

Jadyn grinned mischievously. “If I give you one, do I get something in return?”

“Those are my cookies!” Owen retorted indignantly.

“So?”

“So I already paid for them.”

“Well they are mine now so you have to pay for them again.”

Owen glared annoyed at the blond. “Why are they all of a sudden your cookies?”

“Because you made me get them myself from the kitchen.”

“What kind of twisted logic is that?”

Jadyn didn’t reply to that but just waved the cookie in front of Owens face and when he tried to snatch it, Jadyn pulled it away and stuck it in his own mouth, grinning from ear to ear.

“Fine. I don’t want a cookie anymore anyway.” And Owen crossed his arms in front of his chest, refusing to look at the blond. Those were his cookies damn it. His! And now he sounded like his dad again. He closed his eyes out of annoyance.

He opened them when all of a sudden there was a weight on his lap. The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was a cookie which he grabbed out of the hand of Jadyn to reveal green amused eyes. “So do I get my reward now? I gave you a cookie.”

“No.” Those were his cookies!

“Then I’ll just take it.”

He should’ve asked what the reward was before just blatantly refusing it like that, though he had a good suspicion what it was. This was Jadyn after all.

Jadyn settled better on Owens lap by straddling Owen to the couch. He then leaned forward and pressed his lips against Owens forcefully. It was different from the other kiss earlier but it still send a pleasant feeling through his body. A violent pleasant jolt. By far he liked this kiss better if he compared which he didn’t.

He put his hands on Jadyns shoulders and softly pushed him back, forcing their mouths to break away from each other.

But before he could speak, to tell him to not do this, Jadyn silenced him with a finger on his lips. His voice was soft, barely above a whisper and the tone was pleading. “Please let me.” And Owen made the mistake of looking into his eyes. Those green eyes were so intense and a feeling of lust pulled through his body. He licked his lips and Jadyn took that as an open invitation.

Again Jadyn pressed his lips against Owens forcefully and for a change Owen reacted back to it, giving him full access. Jadyn pressed his body closer to Owens, moving one hand to the back of his neck while the other found its way over Owens chest, sliding down slowly before slipping under his shirt. Owen shivered, both from Jadyns cold fingers on his stomach as from the pleasant feeling this all brought him. A soft moan came out of his mouth when Jadyn released his mouth and instead moved his mouth towards his neck all the way with butterfly kisses.

Owens mind had gone blank at the touch of Jadyns lips. It felt to good to be pushed away. He couldn’t remember any reason as to why he should. The hand that was holding the cookie, dropped it and went over his chest over his shoulder to land in Jadyns blond hair. His other hand and arm went around Jadyns waist. The hand on Jadyns back pushed them even closer. This surprised Jadyn and he lost his balance somewhat to end up falling completely against Owen who didn’t seem to mind this.

His body felt hot and out of control especially everywhere where Jadyn touched him. He had the feeling Jadyn could do anything with him and he wouldn’t object.

Jadyn started nibbling on his neck and he couldn’t hold back the soft moan that erupted at that. It felt so good and right, he thought as Jadyn licked slowly in circles. He didn’t notice that Jadyn was unbuttoning his shirt until he felt it slide of one shoulder. “You’re quick and sneaky.” He whispered hoarsely.

The blond grinned before covering his lips with his own. He then bit slowly on Owens lip, forcing him to part his lips properly, giving his tongue access. Their tongue battle brought a whole new sensation and he moved his hands to Jadyns hips, pressing him closer there to his own hips, searching for friction.

Jadyn smiled against his mouth before pulling back a little, trying to regain his breath a bit. “Patience.” Even though he said that his hand moved from under Owens shirt and to the zipper of his jeans. He slowly unzipped it and then moved to the button. He paused there for a moment though because Owen had bitten him in his neck before kissing the place. It was clear to Jadyn Owens brain was non active and he was taking advantage of that.

The button was open now and he dipped his hands into Owens pants shortly, making him gasp shortly. Then he cupped his face and kissed him slowly before resting his fore head against Owens. “Owen, I think I’m in…” He paused and looked into those chocolate brown eyes.

“..in love?” Owen provided. That snapped him out of it though. He remembered once more why he never allowed Jadyn this, never allowed even a kiss though the blond did steal some. Jadyn nodded not seeing the change.

Jadyn pressed his lips against his again but he didn’t react to it and he looked at him confused as he pulled away. Especially when Owen pulled away his arms from around him.

Owens eyes turned dark when he spoke. “Get off.”

“Owen..?”

“I said get off.”

The green eyes looked hurt when Jadyn crawled off his lap, landing with his knee on the cookie Owen had dropped earlier.

As soon as Jadyn was off him, Owen shot up and zipped up his pants. Then he turned furiously to Jadyn. Even though he knew his anger wasn’t justified he couldn’t help himself and snapped at the blond. “I’ve told you a thousand times, don’t do this, god damn it.”

The blond stared at him for a while before narrowing his eyes. “It takes two to tango, babe.” He spit out venomously. “You were enjoying it as much as I was if your moans were any indication. And I hardly was doing anything at all.”

Owens cheeks turned a suspicious rosy colour at that comment. He dropped his gaze to the ground. His anger shouldn’t be directed at Jadyn he knew that. It should be directed at himself. But if Jadyn wasn’t so damn persistent this wouldn’t have happened. If Jadyn would’ve just left him alone, he wouldn’t be feeling so torn.

This day was sure turning worse for him and he wasn’t talking about his crappy day at school. First he admitted to himself he was attracted to the blond and now he realised he was getting attached to him. He could not allow himself to get attached to the blond. It just could not happen. Nothing was allowed to happen between them though he realised that might be a bit to late.

In al his inner turmoil he didn’t realise that Jadyn had moved to stand right before him. “Why won’t you allow us to just happen, Owen?”

Owen couldn’t answer that. But if he would then the man would leave him alone, he knew that. So why didn’t he just say it?

“Is it because we’re two guys?”

He was quick to react to that, his head shooting up. “No!” No, no that was far from it. “If it was that do you honestly think I would’ve given in to Joshua for that date?”

“Then what?” Jadyn asked exasperated. “Because you are stringing me along here.”

“I am not stringing you along. You keep coming to me, not the other way around!”

“Just tell me Owen. Please.” He begged him.

He wasn’t going to tell him. He knew that. His world, his fathers world, Gabrella’s world. It was far to dangerous to pull a human into. His father was a vampire as was his uncle and his uncle wanted revenge for so many things. He knew Trip was going to come after him sooner or later though he tried not to let people show he worried about this. If Trip knew he had a special someone outside his family, he would go after him. He had done it to aunt Euwia. He couldn’t put someone in danger like that. He refused to.

“I can’t. I’m sorry.” And he truly was.

“You know why I wasn’t around for those three weeks? Because I thought that if I left you alone for a while you might start feeling differently. And you seemed to, for a while anyway. But I was stupid wasn’t I, to think you would. You’re just a stubborn fool.” He gave him a weak smile. “I promised myself that if you rejected me tonight, I’d leave you alone.”

Owen swallowed. He hoped for Jadyn that he did that. It was better for him. Jadyn moved closer to him and cupped his cheek, rubbing his skin with his thumb. His voice was weak as if he was about to cry. “But I can’t. I can’t let go of you like that. I won’t leave you alone, Owen.” His lips moved over his softly. Then he stepped back, grabbed his coat and turned towards the door.

“I’ll call you later okay.” And with that he left Owen who bald his fist. Why couldn’t he just leave him alone. He let out a sigh and decided he needed to talk to his father about this. And that was something he surely was not looking forward to. But he also knew there was no way he could decide what to do about this if he hadn’t talked to someone about it and he knew that his father was the person who would understand his feelings the best.

Another sigh left his lips and he pulled his shirt properly before moving towards his bed room. Even though it had barely passed nine, he was going to bed. Because that was the only way he could deal with this feeling.
