This Night

I’ll let you destroy me

Watching the city lights

They burn and dance

Like stars trapped in glass

Reflecting heat over our broken bodies

Hold my hand, you are not real

The darkness like a coat around you, around us

The darkness consumes like it always does, we don’t want it to pull away

Please don’t turn your back on me

We’re not lovers, what are we?

Wrists pressed against each others

Crimson blending in the cruelest way

Tell me I’m reusable

We both know I’m not

Let’s close our eyes

And pretend the night won’t kill us again.
