Chapter 2: “A secret or two” (Part1)

Steam made the bathroom glass foggy as Caligula adjusted the temperature of the faucet. He grabbed the bar of soap, rubbing it all over his body as luke-warm water washed his shampooed hair. Foam bubbled under his feet and he wiggled his toes, running his hands through his drenched head. His thoughts never left Stephen though, even as he grabbed a clean, white towel of the bathroom rack and started drying himself. The angel replayed the event of Stephen being kissed by that brunette guy in his head. Stupid guy with his open shirt and cocky smile! Caligula mouthed as he opened the door and went to his bed, clothes already laid out, Kissing random strangers…wait… A light bulb switched on his head. “That guy was the kissing fiend?” Caligula exclaimed in surprise dropping his towel that was wrapped loosely around his wait. “Figures it’d be THAT pervert kissing her!” He banged his head on the wall a couple of times for not recognizing the notorious fiend, grabbing his books once changed and rushed out the door, not before mentally smacking himself a couple times more.

Nero fiddled with his dangling earring. He gave another yawn, slouching on his chair as Mr. C attempted to explain ghosts to his students.” Ghosts can take many different forms to fool a person’s mental state. They---“ and from there Nero blocked out his teacher’s monotonous voice, still flicking the earring. Why do I need this class again? It’s useless information, he sighed then gave a smirk but I guess it’s ok since he doesn’t know I have this on my ear! The young vampire then placed his side ponytail over his left ear, covering the earring completely.

The last bell rang, a sure signal that school hours are over. Rithu Chelat, a human with cinnamon coloured skin, weaved through the hallway. Students from everywhere spilled into the narrow corridors, noise and laughter echoing everywhere. She kept to the window side for easier maneuvering and almost made it towards the door. Just as she reached out to open it, a young student bumped into her. He gave a fanged smile, black and white coloured eyes amused at her and he continued to walk the opposite direction, black spiked hair disappearing into the crowd. “Jerk,” she yelled out and walked through the door, feeling the fresh wind filter through her shoulder length hair, a scowl on her face. Her dark brown hair was extra wavy today and she just kept walking towards the girl dorm building. It was faced completely opposite from the boy’s dorm and the human breathed a sigh of relief as she finally reached home. Her room was on the second floor, room number 200. She entered her password on the device beside the door and couldn’t be overjoyed that she had her room to go back to. Too bad that idea would soon be thrown out the window. A person sat on her bed, busy unpacking from a really big suitcase. Anger immediately bubbled in her system. “Hey!” she barked “Who are you suppose to be?” The person turned around and smiled at her, neon green eyes sparkling in happiness. “What’s up? I’m your roommate! The name’s Kaliwa Kanaan and I’m half fairy, half elf!” the person piped up, ruffled lavender coloured hair sticking up in all directions. Her mouth gaped open since this person IS wearing the boy’s uniform, meaning it’s a boy that’s in here…

She slammed the door shut and raced downstairs. A young woman hovered near the dorm gate, ice blue hair billowing from an invisible wind. Rithu stopped to a halt and the young woman turned around, small dragon wings flapping slowly. “What’s your problem today?” the woman asked and Rithu took a deep breath .

“Lihad, why is there a boy in my room?”

The dragon’s gaze became icy, chains clinking as she made a strange movement with her hands. Rithu continued, voice getting high from irritation “He even says he’s my ROOMATE! Is this a joke or what?” Lihad’s pale blue eyes narrowed and she shook her head, crossing her arms as the big silver cuffs on her wrists made a chink sound. “Unfortunately, it’s no joke” She shifted her body in a sitting position as if she sat on a chair, legs crossed and the metal armor on her legs also made a clinking sound. She tapped her ankle white boots in the air, “the boy has to room with your for awhile since there is no more ROOM on the other side!” Lihad suddenly yelled out, clenching her right hand and forming an ice ball that grew into a large icicle. She hurled it angrily towards the other dragon dorm guard and he barely ducked as it shattered behind him. The icicle showered millions of fragments and Frandecine shuddered, his left jade coloured eye suddenly worried.

Why is she mad again? He thought with fear She always takes it out on ME, her cousin! Ever since that time… The blonde dragon had a sudden flashback of stealing Lihad’s lollipop when they were kids and he gave another shudder, a sheepish smile on his face.

“But anyway,” The ice dragon coolly went back to her neutral mode, her black mini skirt barely covering her thighs, “If he does anything to you, I won’t have any mercy on him”. Rithu only nodded silently, scared of Lihad’s sudden outburst. The tanned human went back inside and was nearly near her room when she bumped into Stephen and Ellise. “Hey Rithu!” Ellise chirped happily, purple eyes glowing. Stephen only nodded and swept back some white strands on her face, fixing her uniform right after. “Hey…”Rithu murmured. “What’s wrong?” the fairy girl asked and Rithu answered with a grimace on her face “Well…you see…”

A new voice suddenly interrupted them. “Hey roomie! Where’s the washroom?” Everyone turned around at the source of the voice, the source being a guy. Roomie? Stephen and Ellise thought simultaneously, staring at the big-eared elf with…tiny fairy wings? His dark purple scarf trailed behind him as he jogged at their direction. “Down the hall” Rithu curtly said, pointing at the right corridor before mentally smacking herself. Shoot this is a girl’s dorm. He should actually go OUTSIDE. “He’s you roommate?” Stephen asked in a low voice and Rithu nodded vigorously, “I’m scared that he might…. you know… do perverted things to me!”. Ellise just watched the male get pummeled by woman’s undergarments, screams erupting from the different rooms since he knocked at each of the doors and got the same response.

The Trio decided to go outside and soon found themselves near the guys’ dorm. Frandecine stood as vigilant as ever. “How do you get past him Ell?” Rithu questioned quietly as Stephen nodded in agreement. “Wouldn’t mind checking in there,” she noted slyly, but Ellise shook her head, striking a pose. “I don’t think we all could go in there even if Frandecine let’s me in sometimes for Lei’s junk” No sooner had she mentioned the fellow fairy, someone tackled her from above.

“ELLISE! “ The baby blue haired fairy screamed in her ear “You owe me Kim chi!”

Stephen and Rithu only stared as the Korean boy pulled Ellise up and shook her like mad. Lei took a hold of her wrist and dragged her across the courtyard. Literally. “I’ll see you guys later” Ellise cried out, helpless at the grip of the energetic Lei “I’m gonna be broke again!”. The two turned around again and met the scary green glare of the dorm guard. He looked like he was going to kill someone. Rithu coughed nervously “I’m going to Biology tutorials!” and rushed off somewhere. Stephen shrugged slightly, twitching as Frandecine’s gaze bore down on her and she even gave a sly smile. She pondered for a moment where she should go and decided that a trip to the aquarium would be nice. Adri cunningly looked at the guard and studied his eye patch.

“Careful Frandecine dear “she smirked as he twitched “Jealously can make someone green”. He grunted in response. “Just tell Lihad I said hi…and smack that boy for me”. She saluted, “Will do,” and with that strolled away. The aquarium was inside the gym building and a lot of people were playing sports as the witch/devil made her way through the back. A ball nearly smacked her and she willed the ball to gravitate back towards the person, earning a thanks and she merely nodded. She past a group of guys and they whistled, flashing them a smirk. She reached the dark stairs that led down and she walked a bit faster, not noticing a bump under the floor. She tripped and squealed, landing on someone as books went crashing everywhere. “Sorry!” she apologized as she rose up from a straddling position and her mouth suddenly went dry, brown eyes wide “Caligula?”

The angel swallowed It’s her again! Stephen stood up, gathered all his books and rushed downstairs at a fast speed. Caligula stiffly stood up and thought If she keeps walking that fast she’s gonna fall and no sooner did he think that, a muffled thump echoed around the marble room. He sighed and took his books, looking up because someone brushed past him. He narrowed his sky blue eyes at the smirk of who it was.

“Excuse me,” Jericho politely said, dark chestnut hair in its usual hairstyle, flyaway bangs almost covering his jade coloured eyes. Caligula noticed the gold speckles in them and he grimaced. A sudden horrified thought that maybe the kissing fiend came to hit on Stephen. He closed his eyes in irritation and imagined a bunch of scenarios of the fiend seducing her and randomly imagined himself seducing her. “Ah, Screw!” he yelled in irritation and ran out, not noticing a slip of paper flutter out of his books. The place was an underwater aquarium and a bunch of mermaids gathered to where he stood before, all of them wishing that the angel would swim with them.

The aquarium itself was submerged under the ocean, the corridor made into a long glass corridor that barred the water from getting inside. Stephen twitched painfully since she landed face first on the floor. She felt wind on her arm as she was suddenly swept up, blurry eyes facing an amused brunette male. “Why are you on the floor?” he questioned innocently enough “Are you kissing it?” “Of course not” Stephen growled back and rolled her eyes, fixing her crooked skirt and straightening her thigh length socks. She ran a hand through her white hair and she suddenly perked up. “Hey…I recognize you now!” she accused and Jericho perked up as well. “Really?” He brightly asked, close to being hopeful, “You do?” Stephen nodded “You’re the kissing fiend!”

Jericho’s smile dropped a bit and a flicker of disappointment flashed through his face. “You could always kiss ME instead of the floor you know?” He pointed to himself “I’d probably do a better job.” Stephen only scoffed “You’re crazy. Just crazy” she repeats as she walked off. Something tapped against the glass and a beautiful mermaid suddenly swam to her. The mermaid smiled radiantly, long blonde bangs swimming in front of a delicate face. “Bellenea!” Stephen cried out suddenly, happy to see a friend that she hasn’t seen in so long. She ran and squished her face to the glass, the mermaid chuckling. Her very long aquamarine hair slithered in the water and her translucent azure eyes brightened. “Why hello stranger” she musically commented as she poked the glass on where Stephen’s face in still squished. She suddenly looked up and waved at the person behind Stephen. “Hello to you too Jericho! I presume you’re here to swim again?”
