Incoherent
Though you had lost your way
too many more than a time
the light would always lead you back
back to the right path
Through the stories
Of Happily Ever After
Of how the good would always reap goodness
your heart had taken on a bright shine.
Though that was what I once believed.
I remembered how the child’s eyes went huge with fear and terror
as he clutched his arms tightly against his body
a completely hopeless defensive gesture
I could still hear his prayers ringing in my ears
his songs of salvation and hope
He went on singin and singin
till his voice gave way to the oppressing solitude
I forgot his smile when he was gathered in her arms
when the motherly figure carried the child out of his hell.
I want to forget how those emotions danced upon his face
when he found himself mistaken by the world
when he discover the evilness of the world
when he realized his saviour stood upon the side of the world
even though he did no wrong.
I want to embrace the child
as he stood over his savior with the blunt knife in his hand
the hacked motherly figure at his feet.
The world stood in awe of the crimson stains on his face and hands
I stood in sympathy for his solitude, for his dashed hope,
for the lost of his innocence.
