When I look at you, I can’t help but smile,

And then I force myself back into denial.

Liking you is like the hottest fire,

And when I step back, I’m left broken and tired.

Everyday I can’t help but look into the flame,

And everyday turns out to be the same.

Your eyes,

Your lips,

Your touch,

I crave it all so much.

You are a disease, one that has no cure.

One that I willingly endure.

The chains I place upon my mind,

Keep away the reality of what I might find.

That all my dreams, and all these ties,

Are just fabricated lies,

Ripped at the seems.

Everything that might have been, you and me,

Is a future, just another dream, that was never even a possibility.
