United As One
I look out the window of my heart
And see a face, one face
Hidden there, enclosed within.
That face, so soft,
Looks at me,
Gentle eyes regarding
A vulnerable heart.
He takes my hand and
Holds it, softly pressing
Lighted fingers on my palm.
With his other hand he
Takes my chin, and ever so gently
Turns my face so we're now
Looking at each other,
Our eyes screaming love.
He smiles and leans forward,
Pressing his velvet lips on
My battered cheeks.
My heart skips a beat,
And I hold him close,
As close as our souls,
Sweet love united as one.
