Car wreck Blues

Running on empty again-
gas prices are too damn high
Running down, running out
running away-
'till the wheels are smooth
Skidding across the bridge
only to disappear

Oh pity the undesired junk.
It was beautiful once;
shiny new and hopeful.
You saw yourself in its clear, untainted reflection.
And you wished it was yours.
Now the rust is etched in every crevice and line-
no glitter or glamour found.
Just wastin' away
wastin' away
in the junkyard.
